Doors Open Oshawa 2026-- Part 3

The last two spots are down in the south end of the city. First was the green house and the flowers was absolutely beautiful and I loved walking through there and often do we ever get to walk through and Doors Open is most definitely worth the time. What I loved about the Green House the fact is it is in a "H" shape as their is two parts to it and they connect from in the middle which makes it so easy to see the second part of the Green Houses there.

The last part before I get into the Guy House and Henry House, we walked down to the ship "Alicia G" which was there at the lake and I believe at this time she has departed our harbor now. Which I just looked and as of me writing this blog and she is still in the harbor at the moment. Also we walked on the pier for the first time in 2026 as they just opened the pier recently. Was windy and the water was a bit choppy as you get further out in the water but nothing that these salties or lake freighters cannot handle.

The very last location was right where we were, the Guy House and Henry House. For this event the Robinson house wasn't open unless their doing work in there right now but We got to see the house again and usually it is once a year I go back sometimes 2 years depends on my schedule but still enjoyed every second looking around on things. I was actually recognized as I've been there before not because I had my landyard on which was hidden under my sweater and it can be a tad visable. Anyways we had a good time big thank you to the city of Oshawa for putting on another fantastic Doors Open, big thanks to my dad for driving me around the city and as always talk to you all tomorrow.

Doors Open Oshawa 2026-- Part 1

On the weekend I got to go to 6 - 7 venues for Doors Open Oshawa which yes I know it is a lot but we had fun. The first place was St. George's Anglican Church and I have never been in there before but absolutely beautiful church! I was wowed with the architecture of the church and it has a really nice charm. We learned so much about the history and it is a very old church but still beautful and stunning. One of the staff or volunteers there brought out some items from the archives and so amazing what we saw especilly that quilt or blanket and how thin it was and we are talking 1900's.

The Next location is the Canadian Automotive Museum on Simcoe Street in Oshawa. I was really shocked how much they have updated and re done things in the museum. Looks so much better and there is a ton of different kinds of cars and the picture on the left is one of my favorites the DeLorean car which they had a similar car in the movie back to the Future. Really enjoyed the walk around and the staff there was very helpful if we had any questions. Anyways that is the post for today and as always talk to you all tomorrow for Part 2 of 3 of Doors Open Oshawa blogs.
