Did A Walk Down At The Lake Yesterday...

Yesterday I did a walk down at the lake with my former staff and alum, Eric and it really brought back a lot of the memories from both series that was filmed. Eric even mentioned when we first started it was all started by a school project. Also we did several episodes down at the lake for both Durham Entertainment Today and also The Entertainment Man Talk Show especially. The Entertainment Man Talk Show, if I remember there was 2 or 3 episodes down there that we filmed with the rest of the crew.  We also went back to the Gazebo where the first episode was first filmed on January 7th, 2006 which was the very first filming date that we filmed a series. Yes I remember the date and I remembered when it was cancelled which is something I do not want to actually remember though. We also did a walk down the path that I use to do and he use to do which brought back a ton of the memories from the past. We were down at the beach area and it really made some memorable moments of another staff I use to have and I we took a picture down at the lake which I do not know where that pic ever went to after all these years.  Finally down at the pier which a freighter boat was actually there unloading steel beams from the boat. We actually walked on the pier and if I remember we did film somewhere on the pier but do not remember whatsoever where.

Finally we headed back to the main building where the snack bar and had  bite to eat and we just went to the snack bar not the new restaurant they have down there. However the restaurant looked pretty cool and I think it is a great idea to add that into the lakefront and it does generate more people to the waterfront too. There were people actually eating there so that is a good sign that people are going to that restaurant and my dad and I should eventually try that out down the road. Last final thoughts on this little excursion down to the lake really rejuvenated me and got me all relaxed for the next couple of days of getting things ready for podcasts to be released tomorrow and Friday to ensure I can get back to a normal schedule. This idea was entirely mine and was the best idea I ever had as a long walk was what I needed. The fresh air really cleared my mind from any stress that I have had and I actually rephrased a meme "You Can't Fix Stupid, even with duct tape" to "You Can't fix baldness even with chrome polish" and did one for my friend, former staff and alumni Gordie as well just for fun.  Last but not least, It was a nice walk down memory lane for Eric and I honestly and was neat to actually remember the good old days of us filming a web series for YouTube but that is now behind me as I am now into the world of Podcasting but again still nice to remember the good times not the negative.

Found An DVD of My First Talk Show, I Ever Recorded (Flashback Friday)

I was going through my DVD's back on Sunday and found the original project I did back in January 2006, which is little over 13 years ago when I did the project with Eric. I actually put it in the DVD Rom of my computer and watched it for old time sake. Felt so nostalgic looking back in the past especially that far back it was nice to look back and remember the good old days before I got into the world of YouTube.  This never made it to YouTube. nor was meant to go onto YouTube as it was a project for high school at the time. This is Pre-YouTube like I said, however less then a month later after the class saw it that is when I decided to continue on to make videos and did so all the way up to January 2008 when Durham Entertainment Today which was under another name at one point but I won't as I would be revealing where I actually live. After one episode changed my life forever because then I ended up becoming an YouTube which is all history later on. Now this episode, I never spoke about ever. Never when I was on YouTube nor on this blog but the secret is out there is a series that never went onto YouTube. I think I did post the 2nd episode but took it down pretty quick.

This first episode pretty much pivot-able for us and the camera work was very, very sloppy but moi. Yes I was the idiot behind the camera so I can take the entire blame but don't forget, I didn't know a dang thing about recording a video or filming but we learned on the fly over the many years I was active creating video content  before YouTube and during but it took time to get a steady hand and plus it was the first episode so we had no clue what we were doing. However in the end the class enjoyed the 22 minute episode and that is the reason why I continued doing what I was doing for many years up to June of 2016 when that decision as you guys know that I made. In the end it is nice surprise to actually dig it out and I think I still have the O'Neill special still somewhere so maybe that will be the next thing to pull out but I would have to clear out my shelves as it probably is in a very skinny clear case so it is there I'm sure.

Durham Entertainment Today Throwback Thursday Story

I have been wanting to talk about this for quite some time and probably never really talked about Durham Entertainment Today, but I do have quite the story to tell about that series but a little back story to this, this was actually my first ever original series that never really made it to YouTube, I believe 1 or 2 episodes did but was erased quite quickly after the series was cancelled as I didn't want anything to do with it. However, now you guys know this series did exist back in the day.

We were recording our Halloween Episode north of York Durham Railway station in Uxbridge and the smart alic my dad is threw a stone and Eric, Missy and I thought it was a ghost but it wasn't but that was a memorable moment for us in that series. Also recording by the old ghost railway in Port Perry was another memorable moment as well and was one of the locations within that whole slew of locations that day.  The theme was ghost railways as you can tell with this small story and hence the reason why I picked the ghost railway. What else was cool and out of the ordinary was the fact I found a piece of coal on the side of the former rail bed, mind you there is no more rails left or the rail ties that remain on the former railway but the bed is there but it is now all dirt now and the rail bridge is there.

It was indeed an interesting adventure and was actually neat to talk about the railway north of the station and the history of it but the neat things that occurred during the episode was even cooler. We were even dressed up in costumes for the special even as well which made the filming of this episode even better.
