The Last Few Months On YouTube Were Tough!

               I probably hid this for the last couple of years since my departure of YouTube but I am ready to spill some tea on the truth of the final 6 months on the YouTube platform. In January is when one of my members of staff and yes I am keeping their name out of this as it is now in the past and they were forgiven. That was just the start of problems as I brought on someone new who I have had known for years well I ended up letting them go. I also brought on a former staff member back which completely backfired which they promised me to help me. I think you guys knew that part already. Not just my staff was the only issue but with no camera person, The Entertainment Man Talk Show was in complete limbo and I made the decision after a lengthy hiatus after Season 6, to actually cancel the show all together which put the channel into limbo as well. Mind you I had Season 7 planned out but that was scrapped once the cancellation was official. Also Everything About Reality TV was already active as a podcast on YouTube and doing quite fine in the way of views but not as good as it's doing right now on Audio ONLY in this current day. I wasn't sure I was going to be able to do the podcast on my own but still did well. As I headed into June the ideas, the ideas weren't there. I vlogged a bit between the podcast but it wasn't working out well for me. 


               To be honest, the last couple of months of being on the platform on my own without much help, well Justin was still there helping as much as he can but he knew I was struggling and honestly the views for CBOTW were down. I knew the channel was starting to die down. That was another reason I started to doubt the channel had a future. Honestly the only thing I had was the podcast. What I could of done was separated the podcast on it's own channel and I am sure people would of followed me as I could of done side videos on the main channel as the podcast wasn't the right fit on the main channel honestly. But I know in the end, I made the right decision to go Audio ONLY with the way things are now with the YouTube platform, it was probably for the best to walk away from the platform. I listened to my gut on this and if people do not like my decisions then that's fine. In the end I need to do what is best for me in the long run. It wasn't an easy last 6 months but I managed to get through it into the transition period in the summer of 2016.

What Is Life Like Now Since YouTube?

              I can say, the last 2 years hasn't been easy with trying to rebuild Chris B On The Web. The switch over from YouTube to podcasting and blogging it wasn't easy and today things are much better then it has been. I admit the first year and a half has been tough and not easy with scheduling being off from here and there. But now it is completely different as in the last week or so I have been on schedule for once especially with the Last Man Standing catching up with the those podcasts but I managed to get it done in a quickly and timely matter. I use to not utilize a timetable, a schedule or calendar and each and every week I am getting better at posting up a podcast on schedule but still room for improvement but I am starting to get there. However with the Power Rangers Podcast I am right on schedule to when it is time to record em which mind you there is an announcement next week with the schedule for the Power Rangers Podcasts from here on out to the end of the Zordon era. Anyways kind of getting off topic I'm proud of myself to how far I've come with the podcasts, blogs which mind you I am getting near my 500th blog post already and I just haven't said much about it but definitely getting close to it.


               Now compare to before, I actually got time to myself in the day. I mean I actually have days where I am not working on anything to a point I got the day to myself. Sometimes I will play video games or I will watch my TV Shows that I need to catch up so I have been making time for myself now and I get out more in the public for bus rides or spend time with friends like Larry or Justin or Dave. I will talk about friendships next week at some point. I do get time off between podcasts, blogs but I sometimes have nothing else to do. Now when it came to the Autism Celebration that is when I am on a busy schedule or events in general. Events I have tweaked the events I go to each and every year and I seem to really like the schedule I am on at this point. I really enjoying going to the events locally and in Toronto, I love the fact I get to wear my tag to represent this site I have built so well since the 000webhost catastrophe in the last 4 years and yes I realize the 4 year birthday is coming up and I will talk about it when it hits next Wednesday.  In closing to this blog post that is all over the place so to speak I am really enjoying life now. I got more time on my hands as YouTube took too a lot of my time up with planning out videos but it was fun while it lasted and I prefer Podcasting and blogging over YouTube plus on top of the YouTube adpocolypse, family friendly content this was the right move. It's like us the content creators do not get the freedom to create like we did before all of this happened.

Autism Celebration 2016

So last night I attended the Autism Celebration 2016, not my first, I've probably attended it 3 years in a row minus last year due to my commitment to my job that I got and yes I wanted to be there for it once again but couldn't but was there in spirit, I could of gone from work as a  guest not displaying my site but it is good to be back. When I arrived I was in very crummy mood and didn't really want to be there. But once I got things started and everyone visiting my booth. I started to open up to a lot of people, my past, why I left YouTube, even trying on my own from February to June which didn't work out very well. It was an suggestion made but if I've tried on my own and it didn't work out it didn't work out. 

Had a whole bunch of visits to my booth, some familiar faces and got to see my friends Mel and Lisa whom I've known for many years now and was great to see them both! Saw some familiar faces who have been to my booth in the past and always great to see them again! Connected with someone that knows a lot about website and can be an asset to my site in the future as well, so never know they might connect with me! Also connected with two current CICE students that is taking the program I was in for 2 years from 2010 - 2012 and was great to talk to current students. This told me promoting the program was an great idea and I am planning on continuing to promote the CICE Program again at next years Autism Celebration 2017! Also connected with someone who likes to play video games so a lot of ideas came up in my mind. Also it started to make me think what is more important to my website now & it makes me think maybe I should make my RETURN to Twitch.tv and maybe my friend Brew can help me get the OBS Studio down pat to no Lag and never know I could be streaming on Twitch again as of Nov 1st, 2016 the day after Halloween! So a lot of visitors to my booth have given me ideas even not writing anything into my suggestion box! Just talking to people is helping me realize I need to follow my newly found passions which is Blogging on my Site, Podcasting and Gaming! 3 things I highly enjoy in my life right now! I also got to reconnect to Lisa Binns whom I have known for 20 years, yes I have been a part of Kerrys Place for 20 years! I've known Lisa and Nicole the longest I believe out of all the Staff at KPAS. 

Finally I want to say thank-you to the Kerry's Place Staff and a very special thanks to Ann for helping me finalize the board. I will be back in 2017 for the next Autism Celebration and bigger and better then this year and more confident then I have been this year with this really not so good year, because 2017 will be my year and I will be over this really bad year!
