Riley's Montreal Ruben and Fries Food Review

So yesterday you noticed I was very quiet on social media in the evening as I was at a Ontario Hockey League hockey game with my family to support my niece and nephew's hockey team. However before we went out for dinner at a pub which I have a history with them, not in a bad way but I went to play pool down there which is not far at all to walk where the high school I went to. This was before the renovations which now I really, really love it honestly the way they have it now compare to back then. So what did I eat at Riley's? Well honestly the choices behind it wasn't easy honestly. They were quite difficult to chose and I had several one being chicken sandwich of some sort to the Philly Cheesesteak which I never ever tried which honestly I should of tried, probably really enjoy it and it was either on bread or a wrap, I would of done a wrap honestly. However I went with something safe and I admit it was different from anything else. So I had a Montreal Ruben which is like Montreal Smoked Meat with cheese, probably Swiss cheese and fries. I think it was suppose to come with Pickle on the side but there were no pickle whatsoever but I will overlook that and not worry about it and it was fine honestly. Also had fries on the side. Sandwich was delicious and gooey but worth it in the end. Fries were not too over salty and I added on the Vinegar as I do not have Vinegar on my fries too but also were crispy and really good. Sandwich I would give a 10 out of 10, fries 10 out of 10.

The service was a 10 out of 10 and really was great with us and we almost didn't get a seat as downstairs it was tough to sit 7 people but my sister law managed for us to get a seat upstairs as there was some seating upstairs. I will definitely be back in the very nearby future and definitely wanna try something different and never know I may revisit this on another blog post as I enjoy making these food reviews and you guys seem to enjoy them and whenever I am out somewhere especially new I tend to do a food review on here. Speaking of which February both Larry and I will be heading to Pop Eyes locally here so we're both excited and will be doing a food review so yes this means Larry will be active member of the blog here on ChrisBOnTheWeb.com so I promised you guys I'd be doing a post and he will be probably right from here in the studio actually so be sure to stay tuned for that in the coming weeks.

My Thoughts On The General's Training Camp?

As you all know this week I was at where the Oshawa Generals play and have been there twice out of the 3 days watching their camps. My one concern was the defense men size as a team shouldn't have smaller D and D short for Defence. Anyways. It was an excited sessions with 6 - 4 Team Lindros, then 6 - 5 Team Lindros. I obviously skipped the Wednesday as I had other plans already made so yesterday I went to the single last scrimmage and that was another wild scoring. Unfortunate goaltender injury but he was able to get up and he was pulled from the scrimmage. I definitely know Hughes will be on that list as he played with them last year and definitely think he could even be the # 1 starter as he performed very well. Now back up goalie is a tough pick. The other goalie which I cannot pronounce his name or spill it but I definitely think he could be picked and moving forward  if the GM and coach overlook him getting hurt, it could be a possibility. SBrocca could be a possibility and I was just on their website and I saw he is listed under the roster so sounds like he's moved on but yet they still got Keyser and Ceci listed which they are no longer in the league and/or moved on to the NHL. I think they definitely need to update their website with the roster as we haven't picked our full team for the 2019 - 2020 and they more then likely have started cutting players. According to a friend of mine they will be cutting half of the 52 players that was at the training camp which is crazy but hope to see some players I had in my mind.

Now Harrison I liked and Pitt were on my list and Pitt was actually signed on OHL Players Standard Agreement which I am not too sure what that means but I'm not sure if they are on the team for 2019 - 2020 but I guess we will definitely find out and if I hear anything else. Also McSorely which my dad and I think he's the son of Marty a former NHL player but I have tried to look it up and nothing came up so I do not know. Like I said Goaltending will not be easy pick and honestly I was not sure to who to pick as majority of the goalies did well and performed well. In the end of the week I think it was a crazy week with the scoring and a lot of talent and it will be indeed a tough decision for the General Manager to make a decision to who to cut and who to take to the next round of cuts so it will definitely will not be an easy choice as there is so much talent this year. Just hope they got some good size defencemen on the list but I think it will be an interesting year for the Gens and I am excited to be going to games as I am now booked for several games, opening night, December 13th, January 25th and one in March with both Eric and I's dad so it will be exciting to be going to several games and hopefully even playoffs game but I do not want to get that far as of it as the season hasn't started yet.

Prospects Grill- Chicken Fingers and Fries REVIEW

First thing I would like to say is, I know I am a couple of days late from when I was at the Generals Game and having dinner out but I had other posts I wanted to get out before but anyways here is my review on the Prospects Grill for the meal 5 pieces of Chicken Fingers and French Fries with a drink:

As you guys know, this is my second time around at Prospects, I had to do yet another blog post but this time reviewing their Chicken Fingers and French Fries and this time around I took a picture including the view from seats we were in as you can see, we had rink view seats this time around which is really cool to have for a change as last time we were by the window seat looking out at Athol Street and the Walk In Clinic as well. Now to set today's blog post up, I ordered my usual soft drink, a coke, 5 pieces of Chicken Fingers, with Fries. We waited no more then 5 - 10 minutes and we had our dinner already brought to our table same with our friend Mike as well. We were really surprised that we got our dinner so quickly but don't worry it was fully cooked.

Let's talk about the french fries, it was crispy and what I like about these fries, they had some of the potato skins still on it but I love the skin on the french fries, I don't mind it at all whatsoever. Now let's move on to the chicken finger, sauce it's like a sweet and sour sauce it was not spicy but had that sweet and sour taste but it could of also been a plum sauce but I think it was a sweet and sour sauce. The Chicken Fingers when I bit into it and the chicken was fully cooked and it was so tender and soft when I bit into the chicken it liked melted in my mouth when I chewed it and it was so good and the Chicken fingers were the first to be finished. Overall the meal does get a 10/10 and again I would definitely go back for another meal. I do not wanna talk about the Hockey game as I had a rough night during the second period of the hockey but good food and good company for the evening, I enjoyed a majority of the night with my friends.

First Oshawa Generals Game In Years!

So 4 days ago since I am way behind on the blog posts lately but hey better late then never I guess.  This was the first Oshawa Generals Ontario Hockey League game in quite sometime now and I believe the last game I went to was with either my friends or my family, it is hard to remember this far back right now.

This was a crucial game for the Gens as they had to win in order to move up on the Kingston Frontenac's Hockey team who is ahead of the General's currently so any win against Kingston right now will help them move ahead of Doug Gilmour's Frontenac's Hockey team. Now my friend mentioned to me that the Gens lost the night before, yet they had no business to win as it seemed they didn't care to win.

However they played hard, their heart was in the game on Sunday, even though it took them 3 periods to score it was back and forth and the goalies stood on their heads the first two periods, however 3rd period, a mistake by the Kingston goalie out of his net behind the first goal is scored with a wide open goal. Then of course they scored their second goal and then the empty net goal and of course the Gennies won their game 3 - 0, very exciting game and enjoyed every moment at the game.

I had a great evening with my friends, even though Terry, hyper as ever can be and of course him picking on me like usual, but Angie and I got him good. Ha-ha! It is never a dull moment with him. Honestly going out with them, really got my mind off of last week's drama at the mall and it got my depression down quite a lot compare to the recent past several days, I truly had a good time and looking forward to another game soon.
