Burrito Bar Food Review- Oshawa Centre

First of all, I'm sorry about the lack of posts on here from working on Billy's Podcast stuff to preparing for the next season of Everything About Reality TV to real life stuff I have been very busy person indeed. Yesterday I had the privilege of trying out Burrito Bar which I have been meaning to actual try out for a very long time actually. I have been saying I am going to try it out and it took me about a year or two to actually get the nerve. However where am I going with this? I was suppose to originally suppose to go to Subway, which was my initial first go to place but Subway was a zoo yesterday and I was looking at the menu for the Burrito Bar and I thought huh... Interesting so I decided since there wasn't many and yes it was around Lunch hour when I went for lunch as we were out to the Generals Training camp and we were in between sessions in the day.  So the food side of things, what did I get? I told the lady I have never been to their fine establishment at the mall and they guided me right through it without any issues. I give the service definitely 10 out of 10 not my usual 5 out of 5. Now to the food portion as you guys came by this post to read about the food review not have me ramble like I am right now.... smh. I ordered a Chicken Quesadilla with cheese, onion and tomatoes on it. I also added to the side salsa and Sour Cream as well. I would give it a 10 out of 10 not the usual rating as it went beyond my expectations and they sure as heck deserve the extra credit when credit is due and in this case that was today!

Now would I go back there again in the very nearby future? Yes! The next time I am there I plan on trying something different as there is not just one thing on the list there is a ton to choose from, different meats too from Chicken to Pork to Beef so there is definitely options I can go with and trust me I will be definitely be trying something different. I also think there is burritos as well that is on the list so I am definitely going to be trying that out down the road. So either way there will be a new review for quite some time and yes I may start doing monthly reviews but recently it hasn't been that, it's been twice a month or more especially when I was away on holidays but hey it is content for this very blog and Eric gave me this idea so I am nothing but grateful for the idea. Gives me content. I had to do this post before concluding the podcast series and I will get this done don't worry. Hope you guys enjoyed this review as I enjoy writing these for you guys. I will talk to you guys tomorrow on a Throwback Thursday Story!

Oshawa Rib Fest and Food Review 2019

Yesterday I went to the Oshawa Rib Fest 2019 which I haven't been to in several years as it use to be around the long weekend aka the Labor Day Weekend. However with this change recently it makes it easier for us to decide to go to the event. Now we originally were going to go to two different places but with the amount of food we had we decided to not go for it this time around and I will get right into it as I go forward with this post today. So we went to Pistol Petes for the ribs which is from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma USA. Now these ribs were not Pork ribs, these were actually Beef Ribs that we had. I admit it was my idea technically but was worth the idea. So like I said we were suppose to do two different places, however we ended up getting half a rack which was plenty enough for us to eat but we are going to change that next year and I will talk about it shortly.  Also on top of the half a rack we got a thing of beans on top of that. Now the ribs were tasty and fell apart as you bit into the ribs. Yes I know Beef ribs are more chewier then Pork ribs are but still very tasty. The sauce wasn't spicy and it almost had a bit of a sweet taste to it technically. Now I would definitely give the ribs a 5 out of 5 all day long. However the beans itself, I wasn't really keen on as I have never had beans with red peppers in it before. However the fact they also had kidney beans in it, still good, but it wasn't my favorite beans so I am going to be generous with this review an give it a 3 out of 5 as the beans were tender  and I liked the Kidney beans that were added into it.

After we ate we even grabbed a smoothie which was really good but it wasn't overly cool, not sure if they put in ice but it don't seem like it so again that would be a 3 out of 5 if I was to review it but it really isn't much of a review honestly. So we walked around after looked at what there was and there was entertainment which they were playing Elvis songs, "Jail House Rock" being one of them and also "Do You Love Me?" by the Contours originally and was featured on Dirty Dancing movie originally.  Also the Generals booth was also there as well probably promoting their upcoming season which I am going to be planning on several games this upcoming year. Overall the event was good however their was 2 more rib vendors 4 or 5 years ago then there was this year so I would give it a 4 out of 5 for the overall event and yes I am being quite generous actually.

Auto Fest 2018

I got a chance to actually see cars down at the Lake for $12 which is a fair admission price and I wasn't feeling like going to the event as I have been struggling the last couple of days since Kars on King as I have not felt well, tired, no energy whatsoever. Still have very little energy since Friday. Still trying to recover but I'll be fine in time, I think I am doing better this morning then I have been since a few days ago. So we went late in the morning and spent a good 3 hours at the Auto Fest with my dad. There was so much to see and do there including some amazing cars like Bel Airs, Corvettes, Camaro's, Mustangs and the list goes on and on. There was a few cars I was over the moon thrilled to see, the Mr Bean Car (Austin Mini), also a Cadillac Car & finally the Edsel car were some of my favorites cars to see but trust me, I have a ton of my favorite types of cars. There was a bunch of El Caminos as well which are half cars and half truck if that makes any sense to you guys at all.

There was not just cars but also vendors were there and within all the booths there they had exotic animals there, like Tortoises which one got free from the pen and wondering around the path way which was quite funny to see and it wouldn't go far as Tortoises are slow moving, so it wouldn't get too far. Also they had a Anaconda snake, ferret, Boa Constrictor & also an Python which was massive in size just like the Anaconda that we saw as well too. The cars went on and on and on, there were so many different cars to see and I highly recommend it as you will be spending a couple of hours down there but totally worth the time and money's worth to go and see!

Volunteered With Kars On King!

There was a lot of reasons why I was absent from social media on Friday. I was volunteering my time at Kars on King, a local car show in the downtown core of the city I live in. Anyways it was a fun experience and got to meet so many new people which I think I truly do need to do that, meet new people and I think new friends is great to have. I obviously missed the training session due to mother nature deciding to pour rain on us and only way at the time was by bus at the moment. Anyways, I was filled in yesterday and my job was simple to be at one of the intersections letting the older cars in at the start and out as well. So many amazing cars I saw up in my end where I was posted for the entire shift and event. I also got to interact with the owners of the cars and was really cool. I was talking to an owner of a Mustang so amazing how powerful the engine was on the car. My dad even told me there was a Edsel car, the same one that always went to the Bowmanville but I was not in the right area for it but that's OK, I really did enjoy myself during the event.

Yes it was physical work moving the pylons back and forth but I am strong enough to pull em back and forth. I had a few complaints but it happens and I did a great job dealing with the situations. I also got to meet new people and by the end of the night, I ended up getting a new friend which really made me happy to meet new people and actually have a new friend which was so great. I also got to learn the radio (walkie talkies) terms and I actually problem solved during the event as we had a mishap with the radio as we were ended up on the wrong channel for at least 2 hours as it was really silent but we figured out it was on the wrong channel at the time. Also we problem solved with an oil spill and I ran back to the volunteer station to get pylons so I practiced safety measures and my motto is the patrons safety is our # 1 priority and we put the pylons by the spill this way people knew to go around the spill. The night went great and I think everything went smoothly and was an experience I will never forget and yes I'd consider doing it again next year.

Oshawa Peony Festival 2018

Yesterday I went to a festival that I haven't been to before and I have lived in the city my entire life that I have been on this earth but I got to go today as it was something different to do honestly and I really was planning to work in my studio most of today anyways and I managed to get some work done but not too much work, I went on a lighter load with it being Sunday. I knew this festival would be only about an hour out and about and it was a nice break for me as a Content Creator and I get away from all the stress of getting the content you guys want out. We all need a break here and there.

So this festival took place at one of the arena's locally, which is only used now for ball hockey. There was both inside and outside, they had judging inside the arena on who grew the best Peony. Also they had Bonsai Plants which I didn't really know much about till today and I didn't know about some of the plants as well. As for the Peony's just obviously so beautiful to see. Had pink, red, purple, yellow, white Peony's, just so beautiful to see and smelled really nice as well. There were local businesses there as well such as the Local Gallery, Smokes Routine and etc. It was actually was quite busy there so it was a great turnout for the festival and I am happy to see people there and enjoying the beautiful weather that came with this event as well. I truly had a good time even if it was for a short time and it was an outing away from the studio here and break for me as well.

Kars On King Event 2017 Event, Downtown!

Yesterday I went to an amazing event that occurs in my downtown core of my home town each and every year on the last Friday of August, each and every year and its not just only in the downtown late afternoon on the Friday, it's down at the lake, however it does cost to go and see it down there, we usually chose to go to the Kars on King as it is a free event.

This year was a crazy year for the amount of cars they fit in a parking lot and on the main street and side streets, I didn't think they can fit that many in there but they did, I believe out of both my cell phone pictures and my camera which mind me the battery died towards the end as I was snapping so many pictures which is pretty crazy if you ask me. It was fun, ran into my former Staff David, his fiance, Kevin, an old friend who use to hang out with the gang at the table at the food court, was always wondering how he was doing all these years since I haven't seen him and of course someone tried to say hi but cause drama with me and the police were called which put me into a total mental break down but will not go into full on details or names will not be released either, but to try and talk to me months later after the events that took place, uh uh, not happening, not wanting anything to do with them as I cannot trust em.

Enough of the drama portion but I had a great time, CKDO which is our local Oldies station here in town was doing a remote show there which is really cool to see. Also the amount of people at the event was insane, its become such a popular event each year which is good its a good publicity for them and you never know brings in more people each and every year. Restaurants were getting good business and it was so nice to see such a hustle and bustle of a downtown. I also got to meet a friend of my dad's from the airport who is a pilot as he had his old Corvette there so was great to meet him as well. For those who don't know the downtown was pretty much dead back in  the 90's and early 2000's until our Mayor was not re-elected and a new Mayor was in power. So this was truly a nice change to see such a busy downtown and maybe the downtown need more of these things. My dad and I bused it downtown so this was no worries to find a parking spot but however getting out of the event by bus was not easy whatsoever as traffic on the one street  which mind me is a one way street and the traffic was so horrendous and was late due to the traffic and a majority of the eastbound buses were re routed around where the Generals Hockey play so it was not the greatest. Finally I know it isn't much about the event, I tried my hardest to talk about it but was fun and to leave you on tonight's blog post with a few pictures from the event:

Have a Great Night!
