The Lawn Mower Scene on The Entertainment Man Talk Show Real or Fake (Throwback Thursday Story)

I know this post will make little sense at the start as it is a Throwback Thursday Story but also a scene on the former web series, was it a real when I was cursing at the lawn mower when it didn't start? Well first of all this was towards the end of Season 2 of The Entertainment Man Talk Show the final several episodes before EP # 50. Anyways we rolled the camera officially and of course the stupid Lawn Mower wouldn't start. Technically both Eric and I had the mower running before we had rolled the camera so maybe the fact we didn't prime the engine enough could of had the factor or we left the mower too long without starting it up again, we will never know but yes I was cursing like a sailor and I think it was my fault for making sure the thing starts back up again so that could of been the issue from the get go or the lawn mower just being stubborn as this actually was the first start of the year so that could of been the issue. Plus it was an old start, cold start kind of video for you guys and those do not always go as planned. Gotta warm up the engine first, obviously!

Now I know what you guys will say, Chris this was completely fake, not real whatsoever. Well what I said above it the truth! It was an old start, cold start and honestly I was just very frustrated with the lawn mower not starting back up, so it was actually very much real not fake, it was just pure frustration I was having and we all have it from time to time and that's OK to have but we just gotta deal with the situations of life and move on. It was a crazy day for me and funny as the views really proved that it was entertaining to you guys seeing me cursing and freakin out at the mower... Starting to wonder if to continue re-posting my old videos onto my DailyMotion account for you guys as I think you guys enjoyed it and seems like you really are enjoying it. Anyways that is my throwback Thursday story for this week, hope you enjoyed it and I will see you in the next blog post!

My First Ever Flight Across The Country (Throwback Thursday Story)

This story took place, years ago, many, many years ago. When I say many, many years ago, I mean 1992, 26 years ago which feels like a very long time and it has been a long time since I have been on a airplane and I will be breaking that long drought as I am heading out to Minnesota towards the end of September for 6 days for a wedding, which I will get into in another blog post later when the time is right to let you guys know what is up for me.  So the reason why I went on the plane in 92' was to see family, my aunt, uncle, my cousin(s).  I remember some of the trip to Calgary with my brother and parents but some of it still is a big fuzz to me at this time. I do remember being sick to my stomach from the flight so that I do remember that part of it. I remember my mom and I being on a Boeing 727, that part I do remember entirely as that is not a big fuzz.

So I do have a few memories going across the country. Another memory is going up on Banff Mountain in Calgary, seeing the mountain goat as well up there and going up via the gondola as well. I remember my aunts place in Calgary very very well and the area they lived in which is incredible I have already remember this much of the trip there. Also I remember the hot air balloons I saw in the sky while in Calgary just down the road where my aunt's house was. Now going back on the 727 wasn't too bad, I wasn't sick or anything, I managed to stay sick free on the way home and I knew the trick to chew some gum while in the air. As an adult now, more then likely I wouldn't get sick now, I would have a smooth flight there and back and I cannot wait to hop on another plane again very soon!

The Day I Lost My Bus Pass (Throwback Thursday Story)

This was a few years ago, I believe just at the start of the renovations or just before the Mall renovations happened but I believe I was coming off the bus from Whitby from an appointment so I could of left my bus pass on the bus there. So what did I have to do? I went to the bank machine took $20 bucks out and had to break the money in order to get my butt back home to figure out what I can do next. I felt like an idiot to lose my actual bus pass as now I could not get around at all but my mom came to my rescue like always when I do something stupid like losing my bus pass which costed me around 42 - 45 dollars a month but I was lucky the lady gave me one for nothing as she was lenient  which was a good thing and I managed to get my bus pass ordeal all figured out.

Now how did I feel? I felt like an idiot, I felt stupid that I lost my bus pass and unable to get home like I wanted to.... I was in completely in panic that I lost it, I didn't really have a clue what to do to be honest... It was not a good feeling whatsoever. I did text my mom and I already contacted the Transit system and they advised me what to do after I gave them the bus route number and also the bus number itself. But to get this new one I was a much happier person once the problem was resolved.

Did I learn to be more careful? I make sure and I always double and triple check for the bus pass to make sure it is in that same spot I put it in. I also even check my seat over to make sure nothing is being left behind so I am being very cautious when it comes to leaving anything on the bus now and making sure I do not make this same stupid mistake twice. I truly have learned to not make this happen again in the future as well too.

First Time, I Saw A Rattlesnake (Throwback Thursday Story)

So this happened many years ago and I believe it was two years in a row where I saw a rattlesnake. To make the story short the first time I saw a snake, it was only a mere baby rattler and the rattle wasn't as loud when it shook the rattle to warn us it was nearby so this way we wouldn't step on it. I don't the baby rattlers had as much venom at that stage then an adult snake but I could be wrong though. That was actually out in the rocks a bit we happened to see the little baby snake but also cool. I believe within the two years in a row we also saw a good size Garner Snake as well which was really cool to see too.

Now as for the full grown snake I was the one that heard the rattling and knew there was a snake nearby and I saw it all coined up staring us down even though a snake cannot see while but can sense heat and movement on the ground so it knew we were present and near the snake and obviously we were careful to walk away from the where the snake was and it was slithering away anyways so it would feel safe so to speak.

Finally on this shorter blog post it was a fun to actually see a poisonous snake but would never wanna piss it off and end up getting bitten and end up in a hospital to be treated it would probably ruin the holiday or vacation all together. It was once in a life time opportunity and it is truly hard to actually see snakes as you have to be in the right place at the right time to actually see nature at it's best but we were quite lucky to see a snake!

In The Weight Room in High School Gym (Throwback Thursday Story)

I promised this story last week and your going to get another great high school story and I promise you, not every week will be school related, however today's post is sort of intertwined with last week's post as I mentioned the weight room last week so that brings us to today's another amazing post.

When I was in High School, which feels like Eon's ago since it happened now, I always had a weight room unit for a week and I did something that I never would think, that I would ever do in my entire life and that is lift over 150 pounds, to be exact I lifted 155 pounds. My teacher Mr Plishka which I even went to see him after high school was finished for me. Anyways, I kept telling him during the weight room unit that I couldn't do anymore and I was over 100 pounds lifting, but he took no for an answer, he pushed me to my limit and I do not mind at all actually, because I am truly proud I got to lift 155 pounds on the bench press. I know it wasn't easy but I managed to lift that large amount of weight and he knew what he was doing.

Finally I wanna thank my friend Billy for the ideas about stories about O'Neill, I think I figured out about 3 of them, but I realize there is one more extra gym story, not with Plishka's class but actually with my Grade 11 class and that is a pretty funny story and dumb moment when someone no names mentioned tries to cheat the run, but expect that out in 2 weeks from now when I talk about it.

High School Gym Class Throwback Thursday Story!

High School, feels like a very long time since the days of High School. Honestly I miss school but I am now in my adult life trying to do something with my life which recently it sure as heck hasn't been an easy life that I have had but I am trying. So today's throwback story is me talking about my days in Grade 10 Gym class and yes Mr Plishka's class. A lot of memories with that class and I have a few throwback stories to tell. This one in particular is about the time I was split up into a specific team which always won when I was on the team.

So every now and then in Plishka's class we would split up the class into groups of 4 or 5 of us into teams and we would play the sport that is scheduled in our current unit we are doing at the time. However everytime I was with Billy, Nigel, Joel, and maybe one other classmate too. But whenever have this particular team put together we seem to always do extremely well where we end up winning the entire time which I felt like it was always rigged but it is what it is, he is the one that put the teams together, so he's the one to blame rigging the team I was on LOL! Just kidding.  Also one of the times I actually ended up getting a shutout on one of the indoor soccer tourneys we had during the class so it proves I can be a competitive person in sports.

Anyways regardless it was a fun class to be in, Mr. Plishka made it a fun class to be in and also he also got me to push past my limits in Gym Class, which is another throwback Thursday for next week but let me know in the comments below if you would like to hear that story in next week's blog post and I will sure be willing to tell that story next week right here on my blog.

Have a great night!

The Day Larry Flipped Off The Camera...

I will never forget this day and it is kind of appropriate for a Throwback Thursday Story as Larry and I are under the same roof for the next 24 hours for the Big Brother Canada 6 Finale and this is only fitting to bring Larry into the picture as both him and I have spoken about him flipping off the camera during  a filming of my web series.

So this goes back to The Entertainment Man Talk Show seasons 5 or 6, it is hard to remember, I believe it was the Finale for Season 5 actually as it was the last episode of the 5th season which is now a loss season along with Season 6 as well. I did my final sign off which mind you I plan on going back to my old sign off on my podcasts like the old days as it was a popular sign off for me. Anyways I did my sign off and Larry and he came into the camera with his drink as he decided to flip off the camera. At first I was pissed with him the fact he gave the middle finger so I wasn't one bit happy whatsoever. Now you're going to ask me, Chris why didn't you re shoot the final closing? We did it in one take and I didn't know he flipped off the camera until it was placed up onto YouTube and I replayed it on YouTube myself. I was like oh crap, he really did that didn't he? It was too late as it was already published on YouTube.

Did we get into trouble with YouTube? No, we were lucky to get away with it actually. We got no comments whatsoever mentioning Larry's action on the camera as we tried to keep the episodes clean and appropriate for YouTube. Looking back at this situation and memory of the episode that is now lost forever as I never saved any episodes whatsoever. But I have some regrets not watching back the clips as I edited and I should of always look back at what was filmed before releasing it publicly as I did not want to offend you guys in anyway shape or form so it was a major mistake I made and I think if that was on YouTube now, it would probably be labeled as not family friendly content and would be restricted on the platform. So I now know to edit the content before posting up any podcast/interview or blog contents.

The Day's I Was Recovering From Major Surgery (Throwback Thursday Story)

This Throwback Thursday takes me back almost 15 years ago, Late Summer of 2003, where I was sick, really sick, well for most of you who read the story I told on the blog here a while back, you know the entire story of my hospital adventure so to speak and yes I am being a bit sarcastic right now. Anyways I want to talk about my recovery stage after going through 2 surgeries within 2 days apart and a funny story that made me laugh and I'm sure will make you guys laugh as well.

I was in the recovery stage of my major surgery as I have a major cut on my stomach from the operations and I started to move around, walk again, training my legs to move as I have been in bed for about 2 weeks now and I don't believe once I had gotten out of bed after those two surgeries, I was bed ridden for at least a while, hard to remember 15 years ago.  But during the recovery stage I got to walk around the hallway floors to get the blood moving back down to my legs as I was at least laid up for about a week. But as I got moving around throughout the time I started to move around and of course the orderly that took me down for tests was joking around with me saying I need speed bumps in the hall way as I was going at a good pace and it was funny and he kept me in high spirits whenever I seen him on the 7th floor there.  I think I truly did need speed bumps, in the hall, I was becoming quite the speed demon as I became stronger in the legs and building up my strength up again. You can imagine me dragging my IV Pole around the hallway of the 7th floor of the hospital but hey at least I was moving around on the floor.

I had to tell this little throw back Thursday Story and I hope you all enjoyed reading this little throwback Thursday today and it was truly a funny moment and I know i couldn't laugh without my stomach hurting but again, it really made my day to have a small laugh and made my day and made me smile again and forget all this craziness that happened within a week and a half to 2 weeks being in the hospital.
