What Was My YouTube Downfall?

Nobody really know why I quit, it wasn't because of the Adpocolypse on there, nor it was cause of the family friendly content. That came after I left the platform in 2016. There are reasons why I decided to leave and why my channel just failed all together. The first reason was my first staff of CBOTW quit which put The Entertainment Man Talk Show into turmoil and I was really not sure where to turn with the series next. I believe over the months I started to plan the 7th season which didn't last long up to the point of my second staff that came back to help ended up quitting on me again for the 100th time over the course of 10.5 years of them helping me. This is when I started to think this is not worth it and that is when The Entertainment Man Talk Show was truly done and I just didn't give any crap about that series and I was pretty much over it. All because of 1 series as you can see is basically the main reason I just ended it all and yes I realize "Everything About Reality TV"  was still very much active and I could of pretty much basically continued on that platform and rename the channel to Everything About Reality TV but I didn't. To open more old wounds, I ended up firing someone I had on for not able to take a simple joke as I like to be funny but noooo they like to be all serious. I like to have fun while taking the job seriously so that didn't help with any of the future of the channel honestly. I honestly didn't even talk talk to any of the 3 for months even up to an year. First one of the 3 we started talking again by summer at the most but the other 2 took longer up to a year, year and a half.

So in conclusion of this the main two reasons was the web series failing which mind you again, it was a stupid reason honestly because I still had Everything About Reality TV on the channel and things could of been worked around it with it so the first reason was pretty much one of the stupidest reasons for it ending. But the truth is, things weren't the same after losing 90% of my team that helped me I just lost complete focus on the channel and what I should of done was setup a separate channel for the podcast and kept the main one for other videos etc or as an archives. That was probably my major downfall with YouTube on top of losing my team but a solo project could of been a doable thing for CBOTW but yet again you have to realize I would of ended up in the middle of this entire adpocalypse and family friendly content bull so either way the decision I made was the best decision as Everything About Reality TV has been striving good on Audio ONLY.

What Do I Think About The State of YouTube?

So what are my thoughts about the state of YouTube? Well I will get to that in a moment. Recently YouTubers have noticed that YouTube has shut off the comments but it is very much temporarily but it does cut off communication with the content creator and their subscribers which isn't good. The comments is a great way to interact with your fans honestly, get new ideas for videos or can be also a great tool to hear people's thoughts on the video.  I heard it is a temporary thing and I have seen it for myself that video comments was off and I know not all the comment section are taken off from the creator and it has been proven as there is an an article and if you google "YouTube Shutting comments down" you will find it. The reason behind it if videos have kids on it they will temporarily shut the comments down and it is understandable as for the safety. However not all comments are bad though, there is going to be a ton of positive comments that are being made. Next thing is there is channels being shutdown for controversy and I do understand that but really, I feel like the freedom to express appropriately is not around anymore. The freedom to discuss things on the platform isn't like it use to be.

I mean it has changed so much since I left 2.5 years ago and it hasn't gotten better. I feel like the platform is slowly on it's decline and I feel like YouTube will not be around much longer if it continues down the route but I understand the reasons behind shutting down but it would be nice to have a little more freedom to express ourselves as creators but what do I know, I am a retired YouTuber for the last 2.5 years now going on 3. But it has gone downhill since I walked away from the platform and it is truly sad to see it go this way and yes I have rambled about this numerous times and there is always something that is to be said and that is why I mention it but it isn't too often but when something happens I will talk about it and my feelings but this is only my opinion but let me know in the comments below on your thoughts on the state of YouTube.

Have a great Wednesday!

I Am Proud I Lasted 7.5 Years On YouTube...

Now that I am not far off of being 3 years since leaving YouTube for good, I decided to bring this up.  Am I proud of lasting 7.5 years on YouTube? Well yes! I am surprised I lasted as long as I did on the platform. I know I was grinding at Videos for 7.5 years and started to get some viewers up to the point of my original channel being detached and still is up there by going to YouTube and finding TheDirector015 which I could just link on my website here technically but all my old videos are there for now until YouTube decides to start taking my videos down for the excessive swearing in the channel... lmao!  Anyways I am still proud how long I lasted on the platform and it was fun, but tiring at the same point, planning out a brand new season on top of vlogging my daily life as well which mind you lasted just beyond 700 days of vlogging which are no longer on the old channel as my second channel is now gone. I mean I worked everyday of the week without breaks, late nights in the studio or office planning, planning and more planning. Now it is not as much planning as you know I am a podcaster which is easier as I take notes watching Reality TV and it is easy to do.

I know when The Entertainment Man Talk Show came out that is when the channel started to hit strides in viewers with 38 to 40 or 50 views an episode which was good, especially the 32nd episode of the series in Season 2 when Eric and I were cursing on and off towards the middle to the end of the episode which mind you now it wouldn't be family friendly content at this point... lol, more then likely it would of been demonetized or removed from the platform at this point. However I am hiding a side project I am regarding that channel which is I am downloading the videos and planning to try and talk to YouTube about it as the account is un-accessible right now and I wanna try and get that channel down at some point. In the end, I am very proud of myself to last as long and it was really a disappointment to see my crew quit one after another and to a point of me making that crucial decision to quit but I am glad to be a part of the platform for those many years I was active as a YouTuber.

YouTube is becoming a sinking Ship....

I've noticed YouTubers are mentioning that videos are not being delivered to their inbox or their video is hidden due to not family friendly content and honestly where is the freedom to make what content as you want as long as it does not break the terms of service like back in the day but not it's all about them making money, not the content creators and it is truly sad this to see this happening especially those who have have grinded for 6 - 8 to 10 years or more on their content to get millions or even hundreds of thousand of subscribers and their content is now being hidden. or being demonetized which now YouTuber are struggling to making a living out of making videos for their fans. I'm sure some YouTubers have moved over to twitch to live stream their lives on the IRL category which they got a good chance if they make affiliate and/or partner on the website.

I am glad I bailed out of YouTube when I did or I probably more then likely have to deal with YouTube going downhill and it probably would really hurt me in the process and honestly I think I probably end up leaving YouTube all together anyways as I know my subscribers probably end up not getting my videos that get put up so either way my decision to leave 2 years ago was the best move as YouTube is starting to go downhill and Everything About Reality TV had no place on YouTube and not even in the nearby future. I wish YouTube would fix the notifications of a video as now you have to hit the notification bell in order to get notified a new video is up so their algorithm is not the greatest to this day but it is what is it, YouTube has definitely changed over the last 2 years since I left and I have said this many times, I am glad I made change in my life when I did.

False Flagging on YouTube....

I am appalled at the false flagging on YouTube... I mean really? Here is the short end of the story, a friend of mine, got suspended for 2 weeks and they have minded their own business on the platform making great quality content as usual as I have been a subscriber for nearly 2 years now. I mean they did nothing wrong. This makes no sense, why report them when they haven't commented inappropriately nor break the Terms of Service on the platform? We both have an idea who it is and it is not worth to mention their name whatsoever. However false flagging is not cool and I wish it would be against the terms of service to false flag, because it is against the TOS on IVlog.tv which is a broadcasting platform but they have it on their terms of service false flagging will result in a ban from using the platform. YouTube sure needs to start cracking down on the false flagging soon, because it is ridiculous on this happening to not only my friend but I have been a victim of that once, when I never broke the terms of service, whatsoever.

Honestly, I am now happy with me being off the platform and doing my own thing and my own content now to this day. I am very much happier where I am at right now and hopefully will work harder on it in the coming months. But honestly YouTube needs to get their act together and realize non of my friends content is against the terms or service. The person just wants them off the platform for certain reasons and I have already reached out to The YouTube Team to try help him out and get his suspension lifted because I know he's not broken terms of service or seen any video that is hateful whatsoever so YouTube needs to do something about this false flagging because people will not wanna be on the platform anymore if they keep being false flagged. I know the algorithm isn't great but something has to be done. This is why I am making my voice heard on today' blog post as I would like to see something done about this false flagging which isn't necessary and waste of YouTube's time to check the channel for a TOS violation.
