Firefox dislikes when we make changes to the website

Ever since my team and I made the changes with the newer graphics as we are slowly in transition which I will get to on Monday's Labour Day blog. But all the other browsers such as Chrome and Edge and what Kelsie our resident Community Manager uses, Opera Browser, she's told me the new favourite icon at the top of the tab does show for her.  So  this means Firefox is being an old stick in the mud again. We had that same issue with Firefox before when we changed from the blue background, gold, white text with the red maple leaf to the black background scheme we had that same issue as we do now

       And it is only Firefox that is being a problem right now nothing else as we tested it everywhere.  I think the way to fix this bug is to clear out the cache and the issue is truly fixed the problem at hand. I just find it hilarious out of all the browsers that is the only one as I said before. Go figure. Not sure if it's a setting on the browser that's causing the issue with ChrisBOnTheWeb.com or not. Advice To Getting Your Computer To Run Faster

               Mind you, I am no computer expert, but as you know I have had my share of computer problems recently but I since removing a ton of things off my PC meaning programs that I never used anymore and boy it took me a while to take things. I can say for crying out loud I still had Discord and XSplit programs on my computer which is nuts. It was quite a surprise to be quite honest programs that I wasn't aware of whatsoever I still had from the past but in the end I found it that my computer has officially gotten a bit speedier and yes it still slows down and remember it is an older or oldish computer now more like 8 years and it has done a lot so I have a lot to be thankful for with this PC, it has worked countless hours, running almost 24 hours a day with the occasional nights off. 

                So the best advice I can give is clean out your PC get an external hard drive or USB drive and store some of your pictures or videos or audio on there. More you store away the better it is when it comes to the speed of your computer. I can also recommend to run your programs on your computer for anti virus and Disk defrag which is a huge thing but it is very important to run the programs once a week to ensure that you keep the computer speedy and fast. Again I know I am not a computer expert but that is the advice that I know of that can help you guys and it is important to make sure  you run all your programs to keep your computer and healthy. I regret to say I do not but starting to take care of it more as much as possible. That is my post for today and I will talk to you guys tomorrow as always!

Microsoft Word 2021 & Verbatim USB Reviews!

                 Today, I have two product reviews and I am going to start with Microsoft Word 2021. Now, I haven't had Microsoft Word for at least 5 - 7 Years now and with my Corel Word Perfect acting really weird as my printer isn't being recognized I am now done with that program at this point and actually the version of Word Perfect it's a very old program nearly 20 years old and it was time for an upgrade actually.  So I spent nearly 200 dollars on a Microsoft  Word 2021 and so far I love it 100% love it more then Corel. Now I know I have Corel editing software and I am not going to throw any of those away. I know, I know I am stalling but this program offers so much more and I like the fact you can actually have headers and footers in your document which the other program didn't offer and all programs are different and again the version of the program was an older program and we all know the newer versions have new features added. However I am quite satisfied and happy with this program and it gets 10 out of 10 rating even though I am still navigating around the program. Last little note is I just didn't get word but has other programs that came in the package and I will review it once I start using it.

                  Now the second purchase almost 55 dollars later so looking at me spending 250 dollars between but yesterday morning my old USB pretty much died, I couldn't delete or save files on there so I had to spend the money on a new one and I got the Verbatim USB which is amazing and I just started to use it this morning and it actually lets me password protect the USB so if it gets lost and someone puts in it they will not know the password to it and unable to open it which is great to have it password protected. This actually keeps the privacy of my documents and what is actually on there. It was worth the money to spend on the programs that I got and hopefully this is the end of my spending spree for a while so I can save up again as it has been spend, spend, spend recently. The Night Siri Wasn't Herself (Throwback Thursday)

                 For those who don't know, Siri is a Virtual Assistant on your IPhone. She can be quite funny or annoying as I have had my moments getting mad at her yet she's an AI voice technically. Anyways she has a habit of telling me I am next door at either of my neighbors... LOL which I call her out on every time she tells me a lie. Well, I swear she was drunk... She was giving me locations from down the hill to the street behind me to little ways away from here and she just was acting nuts and I dunno what was going on but she was lost and yet I was sitting down in my studio working on editing podcasts for you guys so you would have content for the next few weeks as you know I need to work on Dino Thunder. Anyways, I tried her the next morning and she was giving me either my exact location or next door from me and it was like she was drinking the night behind. However I was literally in tears and almost on the floor laughing so hard I had to share with my mom what she was doing to me.... 

              I know I ask the most ridiculous questions to her at times but she sometimes gives me some interesting answers to my questions. She can definitely keep you entertained and yes you can even look up what you can and cannot say to her as you have to watch what you say cause she accidently cranked called my friend Terry by accident.... Yet I never even said his name whatsoever. She is very sensitive at times but fun to ask questions like even what time it is in certain countries which is cool. So I had to tell you guys this little story and I wish I told you guys this story sooner honestly but it happened just a week ago but least it is fresh and this gives you guys content. Next week I want to tell you guys about the day I renewed an old web series for more episodes for an entire 1st season and where I was at the time of it happening. I will talk to you guys tomorrow.

A Few Changes For Everything About Reality TV This Week....

       Well this week has been the week from hell.... Like literally the week from hell. It has been nothing but computer issues all week from computer running slow to internet issues to internet browser issues, I have seen em all this week. Unfortunately tonight the computer crashed which put the icing on the cake. The podcast that was on the desk top was lost, all the 45 - 50 minute podcast that was going to go up tonight, completely lost. So which brings me to this damn post and I didn't want to make this announcement but it has to come the heck out as things are not great right now and literally the studio got trashed in frustration.... 


              1)  Tuesday's episode is obviously scrapped and there is no Tuesday episode for this week. We just do not want to fall completely behind so what we are doing with Tuesday's notes is take that and add it into Friday's episode so adding in a bit more content like we use to have and put it into Friday's freakin episode. Yes he thought about my future with this podcast. Having other thoughts too but rather keep my comments to myself honestly. 


             2) The second part to this post is tomorrow's Survivor Edge of Extinction Episode will still be up at 9 pm EST as I want to make sure it goes up on time this time around and we hope by end of the week, we can take a breather and try and learn from this problems and know what to do in the nearby future.


               I am sorry this is happening but this is way beyond our control. We had to do damage control on this situation and try and salvage what is to happened and I speak for all of the team, we apologize for this situation and hope you will continue to tune in. I know this is sudden with it happening but we have to let you guys know what is going on one way or another. Hope you will all continue to listen and support CBOTW and will be making it up to you guys as we are spending all night fixing the issues we are currently experiencing at this moment.

Android Vs. IPhone.... Which One Do I Prefer?

              First of all crap hit the fan when my mouse stopped working and I had Larry over and had to go get another mouse for my computer at Canada Computers which I love the fact they are nearby and easy to get at. Anyways, we were looking at the protection cases for phones while we waited to check out my mouse and that is when I got this entire idea for Android vs IPhone which one is better? First of all, I have had both Android & IPhone, currently with IPhone at his current moment.. What the heck I said IPhone 3 times, dang it 4 now... smh. Anyways this blog post i getting so derailed now, but the question of the day is which one is better. Well I can say first of all Android it is easier to get a virus compare to IOS as I never got a virus warning sign whatsoever so Android I like but certain phones I didn't like, such as Samsung being one of them. The LG G3 wasn't bad either and I actually was hoping to get he LG G5 or the G6 which are more the latest as those phones which I really liked it. IPhone at the start I found it really hard to figure out how the heck to use it but however, I managed to figured it out how to use it minus Facetime which I still gotta figure out hopefully around my birthday I will get to do that with family if they wish to do so.


                Now the million dollar question is which one do I prefer, it is the IPhone. Why? Because I like the fact I got a lot other apps I can use, such as the podcasts app, which are hooked up to the ITunes Podcast and yes Mine is in there as well as I have subscribed to myself as sometimes I do tune into my own podcast from time to time but I will talk about it in a later time. Also ITunes are on there but I think you can get them onto a android but I could be wrong about it but you never really know as I never really tried downloading it onto my android when I had android. But I do prefer the IPhone as I said before it sure has a lot more features then android but that is only one man's opinion.

Skype or Discord? Which One Is Better? (A Bit of a Skype Rant)

             I hate to even make this blog post as last night was the last straw with Skype and I am entirely sick of the platform all together. There are a bunch of reasons why I have decided to walk away from Skype all together and here is why:


             1) The lag has become very unbearable on my PC especially and my PC was fine when I first got it back from being reformatted. Skype has been a pain in the rear since the day Microsoft have taken over.

              2) Skype dropping calls, between both Larry and I. Him and I Skyped every few weeks, sometimes more often then usual but it is annoying in mid call with him and the darn thing drops in the midst of a conversation with him. 


              3) The next thing is the quality of the call both Video and Audio, the video he looks distorted or the walls turn into a red color minus him which is a bit odd for me but it seems to be a bit of a pain to put up with. Also the audio quality, well sometimes sounds like a freaking robot on the end but it could be Larry's end but other calls seem fine to me.


                 Now Discord, it doesn't lag for me, the quality is good and it is more of a slicker type of program to use, it doesn't have bad quality, the quality of audio and video is good and you can hear loud and clear and no robot unless you end up with a bad internet connection... Which is well know if you're a Rogers Internet user like I am... Then that would be the cause. So which one would I chose between the two unless I find another good program? Discord, I like the style, the look of it, the lag is 0 so that is one of the reasons. What I also like about it now they got video chat on there then they did before when I first joined in 2016. I rather use Discord over Skype any day and I have been meaning to leave the platform over the last couple of years since they changed over the ownership of the App.
