Doors Open Ontario- Former Genosha Hotel

        The final event as you probably realize that my dad and I did 3 Doors Open Ontario locations in a day. This one really struck me interested as Genosha Hotel which is now called 70 King was a hotel originally, built in the 1920's, and opened in 1929 if I remember correctly. It was shut down in the late early 2000's and sat almost 2 decades empty and in dire need of a restoration.   

Then it finally reopened in 2019 as Luxury rental apartments which was the reason for the visit, I wanted to see what it looked like and I was immediately wowed with the beautiful marble floors in the lobby. They have a Church's Chicken which is from down in Texas and also there is going to be a lot of chefs they hand picked, Polish food there will be one that is a bit of two different, homemade tacos and many more. I am very, very impressed how the building looks like now. It still has it's original brick on the outside with modern windows and the model apartment was awesome! Very modern and the bathroom was huge! I really love the modern take on the building. I am glad I picked this one to see what it looks like. Doors Open Ontario- Charles Street Building & Maple Fest

 

           Now the Charles Street Building was a printing press company back in the 30's, 40's and I'm sure the 50's, now one of the campuses here for Ontario Tech University home to the Ridgebacks which I have seen a game in person and was awesome. There is a lot of original wood beams there and they really made it modern. They even had a giant size camera that they used back then with the accordion which was really cool and gives you the vibes of the 1920's and 1930's back then. Was cool to see that campus building as the city is very much a University city now. Glad they used this building for education as the building has a lot of history behind it. 

              Now my dad and I switched over to the Maple Fest which we picked up my mom and went to the Maple Festival one town over. We saw the usual and one thing that stood out was them making Maple Suckers on ice and I have one that is package but next year I'd like to get one that is being made. A lot of great venders and a very busy event and so glad to see it hustling and bustling. Anyways that is the post for today, I will talk to you all tomorrow!

Doors Open Ontario- Local Shipping

            First of all apologies for a very late blog today, overslept and got busy with other things but tomorrow I will be sure to be more on time tomorrow for sure. Anyways Doors Open Ontario, locally for us, I got to walk on the shipping area which is normally restricted but this was a special moment for me. I really enjoyed learning what each and every building houses in the way of items they deliver and go out. I never know Steel came from across seas and one of those is Jordan which is pretty far from here which is amazing and I never knew this till Saturday back on the weekend.

            Also the plans they have to expand the harbor out to allow more ships in and the reason why there isn't a marina is because of the ships could collide with the bigger ships which wouldn't be good. So now I know the reason and I don't need to fight city hall over this no more but I agree it is more of a shipping city along with a University and College city as well. Either way I learned a lot what goes on with the shipping, very educational today. But that is the post for today, I will talk to you tomorrow for the next location I was at for Door's Open.

End of The Week Updates [04-04-2024]

                    Here are your updates for the end of the week on May 4th, 2024 and oh Happy Star Wars Day, May the 4th be with you all. Chris has been extremely busy all week long from recording Entertainment Man Podcast which he has finished those up for this weekend and the weekend he is back from Quebec as he's started to go into holiday mode soon. He has finished up any blogs for the week he's away so this way he doesn't have to worry about it during the time he's away on holidays.  He is finally on The CBOTW Show this weekend working away on The Simpsons episodes he been wanting to work on for a while. Probably take him about half a week to finish those. 

                   I know our Discord Server was taken down then brought back and doing a ton better. Chris has improved it and really gave it a sleek look with the layout of the channels. He finally finished up the server and fully functional and operational at the moment. Chris has also brought back the old group page as well for Behind The Scenes looks and discussions. Already 20 something members strong on there as well. Both buttons have been added to this website the first FB logo is the fan page and the second is the group. Also the Discord is at the far right of all the logos. Those are my updates, a lot that has gone on this week and I will talk to you all next week, have a good weekend.

Got My Schedule for Tomorrow!

                As you guys know, I have 2 events back to back to go to this weekend (tomorrow) and I finally have a schedule laid out for the day and there will be a stream and I will mention it in my list but we'll see how things go for the stream to happen. 

10 am EST- Shipping Docks Tour as part of Doors Open Ontario

1130 am EST- Bowmanville Maple Festival

6 pm EST- Just Chatting Stream, as long as another channel that I sub to isn't going live, I will be going live on Twitch/Facebook. 

               There is the schedule, a full day of activities and I wouldn't be surprised if I pass out after the stream as I will be a very tired guy by the end of the stream. I know it will happen. Either way I am excited for the start of events and a very long and fun events season after going dormant for the winter and I am ready to kick it into high gear and doing these awesome events again. Let's Talk The CBOTW Show!

              The CBOTW Show has had rough waters lately. We tried to go to YouTube and it failed miserably. We tried to upload and the video froze and the premiere just unexpectedly ended on us. So I have no clue how to fix it and I think we made a mistake going to YouTube right away. We should of actually waited to go on the platform for this podcast. However nothing we can do now. I'm not sure what happened to the podcast why the video didn't play but the video was corrupted apparently so I have no clue what went on with that.

              The Podcast is to return in January 2025 on YouTube and hopefully we know exactly what we are doing and that we can actually have 0 problems with the podcast moving forward. With this podcast we are still learning with this podcast. However when we return to The CBOTW Show, we will be on a weekly schedule and things will be on a more smoother run then it has been. Just a little patience, we made the wrong call on The CBOTW Show a little too soon. We should of been more patient but not only that but we jumped too soon on going to YouTube for that podcast. However we will be back in 2025 on video but for right now we are sticking to Audio for this podcast for now. Anyways that is the post for today, I will talk to you all tomorrow for another blog post.

Starting to figure out what works

            I am finally figuring out things with what works for us and what isn't working. I know things have been a bit hectic for us lately but we are finally realizing what is working and isn't working. I know Discord went away for several days then it came back but it is permanently here to stay. As well as we have brought back the Facebook Group that is actually public to everyone and is the behind the scenes look at ChrisBOnTheWeb Media and early discussions that go on before it is made public on the other social medias. 

          I definitely we are going into the right direction and we continue to grow and learn what works for us. I know things haven't been the best for the second podcast but will talk about that tomorrow for a blog post. We have to take things one thing at a time and one day at a time. It will all come together eventually but one thing at a time is the way to go. Anyways that is the post for today and I will talk to you all tomorrow.

Will Be Busy This Weekend!

             This weekend will be a busy one for me. I will be attending two events locally here. First the Maple Festival which is very close to me 15 minutes away from the house and where the studio is for ChrisBOnTheWeb Media. That will be in the morning that we will be starting out with first. It is a tradition for my dad and I to do that event and has been that way for well over 15 years now technically but look forward to coming back to this event.

             Then I will be down at the Lake where the ships are, I will be getting a tour of where all the shipping happens. Now I do not plan on bringing the big camera, I will take pictures off the phone instead and upload them to social media from there. However this is something I have been looking forward to getting a tour of the shipping and how it all works out. I hope their is ships down there so I can see exactly how it works closer up but very excited for the tour and life experience for me in the end. Anyways that is the post for today, I will talk to you all tomorrow for another blog post.

Made Improvements to the Community!

             It became too much with the drama on Discord, I just didn't want to run it anymore, not pointing fingers at anyone but I think both Kels and I have been stressed out to make sure everything is working well for us. So the Discord is gone but we still have the accounts her, Larry and I. Now the old Facebook group has returned and it can only be found through our Facebook Page as I do not want to put up with the trolls. It's listed on ways to connect with us on the fan page and it is there. 

             Now also the main YouTube channel: "ChrisBOnTheWeb Media" is deleted as well and I have no plans to returning it to YouTube at this moment. I am sticking to one channel for right now. Unless I get myself banned from Twitch then I'd consider doing YouTube on a full-time basis. However I want to limit down the stress and drama in our community so I think Discord being deleted was the right move for us for now. YouTube I feel like it's just too much for us to handle all at once but I will plan to stream on the weekends for you guys both just chatting and gaming streams. End of The Week Updates [04-26-2024]

               This is the last end of the week updates for the month of April. I cannot believe next week, we are already in May. Soon we will be celebrating our 10th anniversary in November which is very exciting. The updates Chris has already recorded and edited the interview with Jayson and is airing tomorrow at 1 pm EST.  He has been writing blog after blog for the entire week in May that he is away on holidays from May 15th - 19th, 2024 with him back on the weekend on the 19th. 

                 He has also worked on YouTube Shorts for one of those podcasts and the interview episode. He still has to work on the final episode this weekend and that is the plan for today before his 1 pm EST stream is to record that podcast and edit it. After that I believe he has some open time and I believe he will be working on The CBOTW Show episodes, The Simpsons and then after working on Entertainment Man new episodes for the future. Either way he is getting things done before he goes away in May. He sure deserves the time off. I will talk further what is going on for the week he is away for 5 days on May 11th but I will speak to you all next week.

When will record more episodes of The CBOTW Show?

              I know, I know! I hear you guys and wondering when Larry and I will resume recording new episodes of the podcast? Probably Early June, Mid June at this current moment. May 22nd, 2024 is the last one being posted up. This will conclude our journey with Power Rangers for now unless we have news but at this moment it is just all rumors and speculations which we do not want to do a podcast if it is just plain rumors at the moment but once we know we will dive into another podcast.

              For right now we're on hiatus and want to work on some movies for a change. Particularly Mighty Ducks Movies 1, 2 & 3. That is on our list for together. As for me, I will be continuing on with The Simpsons as I have plenty of episodes I would like to talk about and even more Rodney Dangerfield & John Candy movies I want to cover including The Great Outdoors. However you cannot forget about me working on Corner Gas soon so Bob and I can record that this summer at some point. Also I will be starting on Ghostwriter a series from the 1990's. Anyways that is a bit more of an expanded version what is next for us and when we are at after May. Anyways that is the post for today, as always I will speak to you all on Monday for another blog post.
