First Time Having Deep Fried Pickles!

This goes a long way back to the point of me still in College for the 2 years I was in college. This was like between 2010 - 2012. Anyways, there was an event for a freshmen I guess so to speak and it was like a BBQ that we had over at the Campus Pub. Anyways there was a bowl of deep fried pickles and I thought, you know what, I am going to try this and see and I wasn't sure what to really expect and this might of actually been the first time I actually had Pickles all together. Maybe, not 100% sure to be honest. The first time I had it I thought, mmm this is good! I actually really enjoyed it and was different to be honest. It was very, very different and to be honest, I'd have it again in the very near future.

All it really is breading around a pickle and it is deep fried. It's not cold it is a room temperature and I am not afraid to try something new to be honest. I more open now then I was for trying something new which is good. I'm sorry this post isn't very very long, its a very short and sweet post and I wanna keep it short since I am late for the post today. I apologize for the late and the not so excited post today but I wanted to do something. Back to what I was saying, if you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it, especially if you like dill pickles especially it is truly recommended. Anyways that is the post for today and I will see you in the next post next week, Savannah will explain on tomorrow's post.

Favorite Memories of College....

Since it has been nearly 9 years since I left college now, I thought now would be the most appropriate time to step up and do this post about my favorite moments in College and to be honest, I do not think I did a post and I cannot remember if I did out of the 1200 + posts that have been done. However here are some of my most favorite moments in no logical order:

Riot Radio: Was an honor to be a part of the Campus Radio Station was one of the first visual radio stations I guess out of College Radio Stations in the country or even Ontario but I forget. I remember when I ended up awfully sick with barely a voice but I managed through a really rough show. This was also the early inspiration for what I am doing now, podcasting and having a passion for being behind the microphone and a lot has come back to me the do's and don't which I could do a podcast on technically.

Working Out In The Gym/Basketball: We had this thing were we got to go to the gym and shoot some hoops in the gym. I never got to work out on the machines upstairs during my time in College.

Dinner At the Campus Pub: I had dinner with my fellow classmates and other students on the campus and I got to try fried pickles which honestly was delicious! I really enjoyed it and the first time I have had it.

Ridgebacks Hockey Game: For those who didn't know, my college I attended also had an university on the campus as the College and once again I got the honor to see a Ridgebacks hockey game which University hockey is very exciting to watch.

There is my list and I am sure there are other moments on campus I can mention such as several videos were made for my YouTube Channel, including an interview with Justin, Larry and the rest of them which was amazing really, I had fun doing it in the process.

My Time In College (Throwback Thursday)

This goes way back 10 years ago and yes I said 10 years as that is when I started College. Now it was a very nerve wracking at first and I really had to get use to being in the college environment outside of what I originally do which was YouTube was my thing back then in the day. Honestly the first couple of weeks was a rough go as I somehow ended up getting Bronchitis and wasn't the only time either I had it at the end of my program too but second time I caught it early and got it under control quite quickly. My first few weeks was rough go especially the fact I had to miss classes and my Learning Facilitator had to grab notes for me and send me notes as you all know I have autism and I was in a bit more modified classes with the workload but either way I seem to have stayed on track and I always was able to modified or not I was always keeping on track one way another. So it did take me sometime to get the hang of things and I know by 2011 I was close to just dropping out of the program as it was becoming way too much however I wanna ensure you I did graduate in 2012 and I actually continued on after a bit of counselling through the campus wellness center and it helped I can tell you guys that, it did help especially at the time I was balancing out school and being in a relationship with my now Ex Girlfriend as we broke it off after I finished up school but that is besides the point. However it was also hard to juggle around keeping the YouTube channel going and active while in school. So it was tough but managed all 3 that I said.

On top of school, tutorials I also had a radio show on the college radio station which I mentioned yesterday and it was delayed as they renovated the room it is actually still currently used by the station. I learned a lot but I decided to try and get involved with stuff on campus and be busy on my extra time. Also i had the opportunity to work out in the Gym at the Wellness center which the staff who ran it actually ran my program for the first year before we had a new Liaison who ran it and I think she ran the program in my first year but it is hard to remember to be honest as again it was 10 years ago. Also I found my 3rd camera man for YouTube and he was with me from December 2010 till June 2013 when he suddenly quit. Also that is where I met my last Camera Man that I had & now Co-Host of Power Rangers Collaboration Podcast, Larry. I almost where I met Justin, aka Justina who helped build the set for each season of the series. So there was a benefit towards this as I got more team members.

Took What I Learned At My College Radio Station and Using It For Podcasting!

I know it has been at least 8 years since I left College all together and yes I was On Air at their college radio station. So I do have experience in internet radio. However I haven't done radio in 5 years and been mostly focused on podcasting. I have actually taken what I learned from the program director and have started utilizing it. I've taken not having my face too close to the mic and even working with my levels. This is why today I always do sound checks and I can do that with podcasting as for radio you can not as you will have your voice broadcasted over the air but depends on the program you use whether you are Video or Audio ONLY. What I have learned from College Radio is having a script helps a lot and you have to make really good script or notes to what you wanna say on the air. I find it a ton easier to say and you have structure to your shows. Now if your wondering what kind show I had it was an easy listening kind of show. easy rock show, nothing too hard core. I know I have notes still from when I did the show but I was all over the place with genres and now I know to stick to one genre.

I'm getting a little off track aren't I? Anyways I am proud of myself and being on a College radio station really brought my confidence and ability to host a show whether it was YouTube, Everything About Reality TV or Entertainment Man Podcast & Power Rangers Podcast. This is why I am doing Entertainment Man Podcast is because I want to take all of this knowledge and bestow it upon the new podcasters who are starting out. I wanna help you guys as I have learned from the Program Director when I was an On Air Personality or Host with them. Finally I wanna say I was still in touch with him up to the last year or two then he isn't on Twitter anymore at this moment but I am forever grateful for everything he has done for not just me but all the on air hosts at the station. It will be a memory to have this opportunity to be on the air and it will always stay near and dear to my heart for the rest of my life.

Why Do I Want To Go Back To School?

There are a lot of reasons, why I wanna go back to school and I am going to talk about it in today's blog post, now that I got time to start writing blog posts earlier with the completion of the website re-building process.

The first reason I would like to give you all for the reason I want to return back to school is I wanna learn, I want to expand my education, I want to learn something that can help me get a job out there in the working world, even if I work from home in the long run. Now what am I planning to take? Well, I am planning on taking web design, as you all know I have been running a website since 2008/2009 and learned the HTML, Javascript and IFrame on my own via the internet and also YouTube as well.

The next reason I wanna give you is finding work here in Ontario and/or Canada is not overly great, it is a tough world out there to find work, I am lucky I had that 4 week job trial but unfortunately quitting after 4 weeks or the contract came to an end. I have made going back to school my number priority to eventually go back to school if finding a job doesn't work out for me.  What steps do I have to take to get to this step? well, I have to possibly go back to high school class for college English in order to apply to the program I want to take at a college but that's OK with me though. It takes baby steps and I know I can get through these small bumps and then move into the world of being a college student once again for the 2 year web design program. It would be our local college I went to for the CICE Program as it would probably fit me better, however I could do online studies from another college from Toronto but not sure if it will best suit me if I did online studies.

I may have had not many reasons for going back to school but the one reason is to try and start earning a living, moving out on my own, being on my own, hopefully get a girlfriend one day. But the most important thing is I want to better my skills at building a website and learning new elements to building a website.

My Opinion on The Job Market In Ontario...

First of all I gotta say this, I do not normally usually get political in my posts but this has been bugging me for the last while and I wants to address it this morning. As you all know I live in Ontario and I am starting to not like living in Ontario anymore and want to move out of this province because since 2015 and quitting my only job I had in my lifetime, to find work is not easy whatsoever and I am kind of to blame for quitting but I did what I felt right. I admit the government said they were going to create more jobs and I believe they were going to create jobs for people with a disability and yet were still waiting... I am one, not happy with the Ontario Government and change needs to happen and I couldn't be any happy for the election, hopefully for people to see the change in this province in many many years. Hopefully we can make change and hopefully things do change around and things get better for this province but you never know what will happen. Hopefully Ontario is tired of our premiere they want to vote for another party in but I do not want to get too political which isn't my forte in this blog whatsoever.

Now in the way of the job search, I am clearly not sure where my future lies with my employment support as I have thought about leaving numerous times as my frustration to find work is getting worse and worse each and every 2nd week I am there so I've considered leaving but decided to stay on longer to see if I get a job but the second I start school I will have to take a leave of absence from it to attend school but school is my alternative move from searching for work and I am currently been looking at bursaries, OSAP anything that can help me through college and there are options for people with disabilities like myself so there are options. In conclusion as I am keeping this blog post a bit shorter as I am posting another blog post later on, but anyways I do got future and backup plans in case this job search does not pan out but I am grateful for having as many job interviews as I have had this year and anything still can happen.
