Radio Interview This Week (ChatandSpinRadio.com)

This week is going to be definite defining moment in my online career. I got an radio interview which technically is my first ever radio interview I have done in my career. I have been on other podcasts in the past but to be on a station hundreds of thousands of listeners, this is going to help me out as a content creator (blogger/podcaster.) I am both excited and nervous but it is just a normal feeling and I will be just fine. This is going to really make or break my career and excited to do this. It has been about 2 years actually since my last interview and I am sure with Entertainment Man Podcast here for the duration I am sure there will be more interviews down the road, because I am nowhere near done with Entertainment Man Podcast and ChrisBOnTheWeb.

As I said in my announcement, I will be LIVE, on ChatandSpinRadio.com  at 3 pm ET, 2 PM CT 8 pm, 1 pm MT, 12 pm PT, 8 pm GMT. You will have to click on Listen Live to listen to the interview live and it will be up to 10 mins long. I ask you guys to listen to this interview and support me and also support this station. More listeners the better helps them and helps me on my very first interview in 2 years now. I will be posting up that I live on the air, Facebook/Twitter will just be a written post but as for Instagram it will be a video post but the links will be in the description below on the post. I cannot wait and you can't imagine how excited I am for this interview and it will be a great way to get myself out there. If you get opportunities take em when you get em. Till tomorrow have a great day and please be sure to listen Thursday @ 3 pm ET on ChatandSpinRadio.com

Favorite Memories of College....

Since it has been nearly 9 years since I left college now, I thought now would be the most appropriate time to step up and do this post about my favorite moments in College and to be honest, I do not think I did a post and I cannot remember if I did out of the 1200 + posts that have been done. However here are some of my most favorite moments in no logical order:

Riot Radio: Was an honor to be a part of the Campus Radio Station was one of the first visual radio stations I guess out of College Radio Stations in the country or even Ontario but I forget. I remember when I ended up awfully sick with barely a voice but I managed through a really rough show. This was also the early inspiration for what I am doing now, podcasting and having a passion for being behind the microphone and a lot has come back to me the do's and don't which I could do a podcast on technically.

Working Out In The Gym/Basketball: We had this thing were we got to go to the gym and shoot some hoops in the gym. I never got to work out on the machines upstairs during my time in College.

Dinner At the Campus Pub: I had dinner with my fellow classmates and other students on the campus and I got to try fried pickles which honestly was delicious! I really enjoyed it and the first time I have had it.

Ridgebacks Hockey Game: For those who didn't know, my college I attended also had an university on the campus as the College and once again I got the honor to see a Ridgebacks hockey game which University hockey is very exciting to watch.

There is my list and I am sure there are other moments on campus I can mention such as several videos were made for my YouTube Channel, including an interview with Justin, Larry and the rest of them which was amazing really, I had fun doing it in the process.

My Time In College (Throwback Thursday)

This goes way back 10 years ago and yes I said 10 years as that is when I started College. Now it was a very nerve wracking at first and I really had to get use to being in the college environment outside of what I originally do which was YouTube was my thing back then in the day. Honestly the first couple of weeks was a rough go as I somehow ended up getting Bronchitis and wasn't the only time either I had it at the end of my program too but second time I caught it early and got it under control quite quickly. My first few weeks was rough go especially the fact I had to miss classes and my Learning Facilitator had to grab notes for me and send me notes as you all know I have autism and I was in a bit more modified classes with the workload but either way I seem to have stayed on track and I always was able to modified or not I was always keeping on track one way another. So it did take me sometime to get the hang of things and I know by 2011 I was close to just dropping out of the program as it was becoming way too much however I wanna ensure you I did graduate in 2012 and I actually continued on after a bit of counselling through the campus wellness center and it helped I can tell you guys that, it did help especially at the time I was balancing out school and being in a relationship with my now Ex Girlfriend as we broke it off after I finished up school but that is besides the point. However it was also hard to juggle around keeping the YouTube channel going and active while in school. So it was tough but managed all 3 that I said.

On top of school, tutorials I also had a radio show on the college radio station which I mentioned yesterday and it was delayed as they renovated the room it is actually still currently used by the station. I learned a lot but I decided to try and get involved with stuff on campus and be busy on my extra time. Also i had the opportunity to work out in the Gym at the Wellness center which the staff who ran it actually ran my program for the first year before we had a new Liaison who ran it and I think she ran the program in my first year but it is hard to remember to be honest as again it was 10 years ago. Also I found my 3rd camera man for YouTube and he was with me from December 2010 till June 2013 when he suddenly quit. Also that is where I met my last Camera Man that I had & now Co-Host of Power Rangers Collaboration Podcast, Larry. I almost where I met Justin, aka Justina who helped build the set for each season of the series. So there was a benefit towards this as I got more team members.

Took What I Learned At My College Radio Station and Using It For Podcasting!

I know it has been at least 8 years since I left College all together and yes I was On Air at their college radio station. So I do have experience in internet radio. However I haven't done radio in 5 years and been mostly focused on podcasting. I have actually taken what I learned from the program director and have started utilizing it. I've taken not having my face too close to the mic and even working with my levels. This is why today I always do sound checks and I can do that with podcasting as for radio you can not as you will have your voice broadcasted over the air but depends on the program you use whether you are Video or Audio ONLY. What I have learned from College Radio is having a script helps a lot and you have to make really good script or notes to what you wanna say on the air. I find it a ton easier to say and you have structure to your shows. Now if your wondering what kind show I had it was an easy listening kind of show. easy rock show, nothing too hard core. I know I have notes still from when I did the show but I was all over the place with genres and now I know to stick to one genre.

I'm getting a little off track aren't I? Anyways I am proud of myself and being on a College radio station really brought my confidence and ability to host a show whether it was YouTube, Everything About Reality TV or Entertainment Man Podcast & Power Rangers Podcast. This is why I am doing Entertainment Man Podcast is because I want to take all of this knowledge and bestow it upon the new podcasters who are starting out. I wanna help you guys as I have learned from the Program Director when I was an On Air Personality or Host with them. Finally I wanna say I was still in touch with him up to the last year or two then he isn't on Twitter anymore at this moment but I am forever grateful for everything he has done for not just me but all the on air hosts at the station. It will be a memory to have this opportunity to be on the air and it will always stay near and dear to my heart for the rest of my life.

I Made The Impossible, Happen Yesterday!

Yesterday the impossible happen! Larry and I worked on for a good hour and a bit on an Audio ONLY live stream with Radio Loyalty which The CBOTW Network still had the station info on there from when it shutdown in 2015 after a really rough ending to it all. Anyways all I had to is update the banner and add back the player to the station and we were cooking with gas finally and we had a working station live on the air. Now mind you it will not be an 24-7 station but it will be on the Air when there is an podcast to do live on the airwaves of The CBOTW Network. It was a long and stressful process as links had to be updated and it was giving me quite a hard time accepting the link titles to the main website link but finally got it then added the player back and then we tested for about 10 minutes. The sound was great and all we had it on the web cam mic at first but tested out the condenser mic which worked great as well. We did all the tests we needed for when it starts up which mind you it will not be long till we start and I will get into that shortly in this blog post. What I like about Radio Loyalty it is so simple and easy to set up minus the pickiness with the link names but I found out to fix it but it is all HMTL5 based and not to worry about that annoying flash, especially with Google Chrome where you have to tell it to allow so you do not have to keep on hitting allow every time you watch or listen to a stream both Audio and Video as well.

Now when is this going to happen? Well if all goes well as I am now into Power Rangers Turbo now with Zeo being completed, I am moving on tomorrow to start the next phase of prepping for this collab. What do I mean by this? Not ONLY "Everything About Reality TV" but also the Collaboration podcasts will be live each and every week. There will be certain ones that will be live as I do have a life outside the podcasting world and here is my Live Broadcast Schedule looks like for Winter & Spring 2019:

Winter 2019 (Everything About Reality TV, Season 9):

Celebrity Big Brother (LIVE on the IceCast Airwaves)

Spring 2019 (Everything About Reality TV, Season 10):

Survivor 38

Big Brother Canada

Now as for the not live podcasts as follows, Amazing Race & Music City will not be Broadcasted on the IceCast or the Audio Stream I have set up as I said before, I am busy with life too and I cannot do everything on the airwaves, Now I have been thinking about bringing on a co host or someone to do some hosting during Celebrity Big Brother & Big Brother, now will they have access to the Audio Stream? Of course they will. They will 100% access of the feed to stream the podcast live. I will be making sure I can trust em with the information 100% But it is in the long plan down the road too! It is exciting news and hope you all are excited for the future of the podcast as I am ecstatic for the return to a live broadcast!

My Favorite Moment's In College!

Today's blog post is about my time in College and the memories I have made at Durham College and the fun and great memories that I made during the 2 year program in the Community Integration Throughout Cooperative Education.

1) Becoming a part of my college's first visual radio station out there on the internet. I loved doing "Easy Rock With Chris" because I loved the music I played, music that was easy to listen to like Katy Perry, Coldplay, U2, etc.

2) Doing a few interviews with students in my program and even a tour of my locker. Had to do some video content for YouTube during the hiatus of my former web series, The Entertainment Man Talk Show.

3) Going To a University of Ontario Institution of Technology Hockey game aka the UOIT Ridgebacks game with a bunch of my classmate in the CICE Program. It was a fun but also exciting game to go as I have never seen the University level of Hockey.

4)  Got the chance to work out a bit at the CRCW on Campus and get back into shape while on campus and plus it gave me something to do between the long 2 or 3 hours between classes and my radio show on Riot Radio.

5) Doing my placements in two retail stores and also at the Oshawa Little Theater, which I loved working at the Theater and volunteered after briefly till December of 2012.

6) Larry and I becoming T1 & T2 (Trouble 1 & Trouble 2) talking snow on Liz whom is now the Liaison

There's my list of my top 6 memories of College and hope you guys enjoyed me writing this list on my favorite moments at college, I know I probably missed a pile of them but these are some of my favorite moments at college, but I truly enjoyed every moment being at Durham College and you never know I could make a return to learn something new to potentially start a career in my life!

Promoting Yourself, Getting Yourself Out There!

First of all let me say, I been putting this post on hold for about 2 months now... LOL... But finally getting into writing this post. When you are doing YouTube, Podcasting, Radio, broadcasting, blogging or running a website you always gotta promote it, I always post up updates if I did some changes to the website, this way you guys can pop over to my website. Another way I promote the heck out of my podcasts, blog & website is by hash tagging in my tweets for example #EverythingAboutRealityTV #CBOTWGamersPodcast are two prime examples, also #podcasts, #podcast, #blog, #blogger #blogging #blogpost.

Let's break this up. Let's start with YouTube as the first example in this blog post. Now connecting your YouTube account to your Twitter is the best idea this way when your video goes up on your channel it auto tweets and you do not have to find the link to post it out! Another thing, the more social media the better but I rather use Twitter I am close to 2.1K in followers and it is a growing so Twitter is the best way to promote yourself. Now for Podcasts, connecting with your social media, this way it posts or you can do it similar like mine like the example below:

#EverythingAboutRealityTV #Podcast is Now Up!! chrisbontheweb.com/everything-abo… podcasts.com/everything-abo… & Stitcher! #SurvivorMillennialsVsGenX

Now for your radio show or live broadcasts, you can setup Twitter to Auto Tweet from Tweetdeck on your browser so it posts at a certain time lets say 8 pm EST and it will post it without you have to type it out each and every time, same if you just record podcasts you can do the same for that as well. Hope this helps anyone getting into YouTube, Podcasting, Radio, broadcasting, blogging or running a website.

Have a great Thursday!

Chris
