Toronto Christmas Market Food Review

So CBOTW Fam, two part review! I should of taken a picture of the cookie and the Hot chocolate but I didn't... DARN! Anyways I had a Grilled Cheese sandwich with bacon which was actually grilled on an actual grill this time around and it brought a lot of flavor to the sandwich actually. It was so chewy and really good. The bacon seemed like it was a thick pieces of bacon too which is a bonus. They really gave you quality sandwich for 11.25 which is expensive enough but worth every penny. So I'd give the sandwich a 15 out of 10 as it exceeds my expectations.

Now we had a dessert at a place called Sweetie Pie which is a normal shop in the Distillery Distinct and I plan on tagging them on our Facebook Fan Page and hopefully they see and read my amazing review. My dad and I ordered a few things, peanut butter cookies (2) for my mom and she said it was very soft and tender and she gave me a small chunk to try and it was really good. She was very impressed. My dad and I both got the Ginger cookies and again soft in ever bite that we took. I'd give em 15 out of 10 like the sandwich above. Now we also got some warm drinks, Belgium Hot Chocolate and was very chocolaty and they even added green and red food coloring to fit the Christmas holidays. We asked them to add in whip cream for an extra buck and it was amazing. I'd also give it a 15 out of 10 as it exceeds my expectations! We will be back there when we visit again in the future outside of the Christmas event. I will highly recommend them as well. So that wraps up the reviews and events for 2023. Thank you for supporting me with all these events, look forward to returning to these events next year but in the meantime it will be full pledge content which I will talk about that on tomorrow's end of the week updates but for now have a good rest of your Thursday.

Toronto Christmas Market 2023!

Monday, I got to go to the Toronto Christmas Market. It has been 4 years since my dad and I have been to the event so it most definitely felt good to have gone back to the event. There was a lot of vendors, soaps, Christmas Decorations, tarts, little cool nick knacks especially that it is the Christmas season now too. Lights are absolutely stunning this year. They had a ton of different vendors to many to even mention and they also had a candle and soap shop which smelled absolutely amazing.

It was cold out but wasn't that bad once we had something to eat which I will talk about and review tomorrow on the blog which is taking up a lot of my blog space for the week which is actually fantastic, more content the better. Anyways the lights were amazing as always I really enjoyed going back to the Toronto Christmas Market and will look forward to it again next year as this wraps up events for us for 2023. That's the post for today, I will talk to you all tomorrow for the food review.

Christmas Market Is Happening This Year-- I'm Not Breaking My Word!

The title doesn't lie, I know the Christmas Market is happening, but I refuse to go as we're still in a pandemic and I am not about to risk myself getting sick. Not only that, I already told you guys that I wouldn't be going to events till next year and that promise will not be broken whatsoever. I have a plan and I honestly need to stick to the plan moving forward and I am not about to break the promise or my word. I do not care, I am not getting sick for anything, not risking my life and getting sick from a  pandemic. I know and realize that there will be restrictions and limitations at this event but still we have to travel from here to Toronto by train and back and I am nowhere near ready for that far of a journey. I really do not care about going to Toronto right now my health and safety is more important then some Market right now.

Remember what I said-- I would start with local events first in my region not Toronto right straight off the bat and I plan on keeping my word on that to be honest.  Why rock the boat at the moment? I just not feeling that ready to actually make this move, not right now/ I don't care if I am being called stubborn, I am doing what is best for me in the end. Like I said my health means more then anything in the world right now then going to Toronto. It will happen in the nearby future but not right now. That is all I have to say on this matter and it is too early to take the risk and rock the boat. We still have between 300 - 600 cases a day which is quite high and now it is not the time to play around like this. I will talk to you tomorrow for the end of the week updates.

Fried Perogies At Toronto Christmas Market Food Review!

As I promised you guys I would do a food review for you guys from the Toronto Christmas Market back on Wednesday and yes I did a double blog post for you guys today. As I mentioned in my post back at noon I had the Perogies with onions and also bacon and not small pieces of bacon either big chunks of it too. They even gave me a ton of sour cream which made it so good. Now the Perogie isn't your typical boiled as it was actually fried European Style which was really, really good even tho it was tough to actually cut but I someway, somehow seemed to manage it with no problem. In the perogie there was potato and cheese the kind we have sometimes every 2nd week or so when we cannot figure out what we want to eat for dinner. The dough was tougher then usual but manageable but it was really good even with the bacon, onions and sour cream.  It wasn't my favorite but don't forget this is the first time I have had this and it is honestly hard to cut that was pretty much my main issue.

However I am overlooking that part of the meal the bacon, onions all well cooked and had a ton of flavor so that was good and the cheese and potato were super good too so out of it all it would be a 4 out of 5 and yes I am being generous with the entire meal. Now would I do it again? Hmmm maybe, I really unsure but again I could be feeling different from this review come this time next year when it is time to go to the Christmas Market 2020 as I am sure my dad and I will be back there again at the end of next year. However I want to try something different there instead and kind of switch things up each year and I am sure I will be back to the same thing eventually but who knows. Either way I ate it and enjoyed it and that is what entirely matters to me and really I didn't complain about it but it was in the back of my mind on the one issue but really I didn't worry about it at all. I am all about the experience at the Toronto Christmas Market every year that I go with my dad and we made time despite the busy schedule around this studio reno project. Finally I hope you enjoyed this bonus post and I will see you in tomorrow's regular post at the usual time.

Toronto Distillery Christmas Market 2019

Wednesday afternoon, I got to go with my dad and honestly I really didn't want to go but I went and I had a ton of fun once I got there. Yea I was tired and I once again didn't sleep or didn't sleep at all and by the time you see this post I am already on the road to meet up with 2 of my former staff. Anyways we took the Go Train and yes I had to refill my Presto as I may have ran right out by the time I got home but that is besides the point. The train trip takes me about 45 minutes from here to there and that is OK honestly. We got there we had to take a subway and a streetcar there but least its not as long as last year as we got stuck at a station due to a damn signal ahead so this year we were a little worries. We got there we had dinner first which was Perogies which I will be posting up a second post up for you guys this afternoon at 3 pm EST.

There was a socks booth, chocolate booth, Melted Swiss Cheese, Poutine which again I will explain that part in my Food Review later on when I post up the blog post later on.  they also have a smores booth which is very yummy, Wishing Well, drinks both normal and alcoholic which I just had a hot chocolate due to my meds which next year I am taking before I leave for the event this way I can join my dad. Of course they had a tree and it was blue and white with the big shiny balls and I can imagine the comments to this post from you guys... smh.  However some of the lights were off and I thought they would of checked the lights or they just burnt out so they will probably have to replace em. We had a good time one way or another and the time we were there went very fast and just enjoyed ourselves as we always do. This does conclude events locally and also in Toronto for 2019 and 2020 is close to coming I am already excited for the events in 2020 which pretty much are the same the events as this year but with some adjustments that I need to make in 2020. I will talk to you in the next post later on today for the Food Review.

Christmas Market 2018

Thursday evening I went to the Christmas Market with my dad and mind you, getting there wasn't easy as we got stuck at Rouge Hill Station for over 20 minutes, so it was putting stress on me especially and I was really trying to be patient which is unusual I am the complete opposite where I am not patient but this time around I was really trying my hardest which was why I was in one of my moods. I wasn't having any of it or putting up with people whom were shoving me around without an "excuse me" whatsoever. I tell you people are either in a rush or just plain rude. I had second thoughts about doing this again next year but I remember that Dave who is earning his Staff tag back so I cannot disappoint him at all with that promise to actually come to the event. I think I was in the heat of the moment with this entire train dilemma.  I am proud of myself trying to stay positive and being patient through this, not usually the case I really lose my patience but I am starting to turn over a new leaf. We had to take the bus from Rouge Hill which lengthened our trip by a mile and a half like literally! We got there on fumes meaning we were starving by the time we got there and was our number 1 priority to eat first before anything else.

So after we ate which we both had poutine with chicken on top which I know sounds odd but it was good actually. I ate the chicken fast enough and I didn't know this till my dad mentioned it but there was curry in the spice which made it even better and plan on trying that myself down the road with future Chicken Fingers when my parents go away again as I do not mind a little heat to the Chicken at all and I have had curry powder before in Tai food at my late aunts before she passed. We then looked around and we got a picture taken in a sleigh all we needed was hats and white beards. We looked around as well and listened to a song or two and saw the merry go round and ferris wheel and brings back memories as a kid. We had a good time despite my mood and I wasn't having it that night as I was miserable and this entire train trip in as I was worried we were going to have to turn around and just go home. I wanted to get a refund as I wasn't happy but it wasn't go transit it was the signal that busted over in Scarborough Go Station. I tried to make the best of the Market and there is nothing we can really do about the situation and had to make the best out of this event, maybe next year will be a better trip in.

Toronto Christmas Market @ Toronto Distillery District 2017!

So last night, more like Thursday night, I got to go to the Distillery District in Toronto for the Toronto Christmas Market with my dad and this was the first time for us going to this ever and we heard about this last year and wanted to go but apparently it ended before Christmas but this year it goes up to the day before Christmas. We traveled to Toronto Via Go Train as it is the fastest way into the city, due to traffic during the rush hour time it would not be too good if we drove in we would of been stuck in traffic and there later then we were on Thursday Night.

So we got there, we took the subway to King Station and the streetcar over to the Distillery District. We got there and went in and I was amazed by all the lights at the distillery/Toronto Christmas Market, the red, the white lights. As you can see above, the white and red lights. Also as you see in the picture above I had a picture with me behind the white star which makes me like a star I guess. They had booths with small snow globes, also Christmas decorations as well. Their were some with food or snacks like a grilled Cheese stand, poutine which I had a poutine with Montreal Smoked Meat which is a French-Canadian kind of dish here in Canada. Also they got a huge tree as you can see on the left side of the post with my dad sort of under the tree. We had a great night, minus the transit booting us off as it was going out of service which it could of gone out of service at the loop and we could of waited for another streetcar to head back to Union Station but oh well, it is what it is and we managed to get home around 930 pm that evening and boy I was exhausted but yet I stayed up till 1 or 2 am in the morning which I haven't slept well but I felt relaxed after a fun evening.
