Additional Events Coming Up!

This week and next week will see 3 events, 2 this week, one in Tyrone Ontario for the Farmers Parade as you guys remember I last did that event back in 2019 before COVID started that went through 2.5 to 3 years and still even a thing now but besides the point. Anyways this Wednesday (tomorrow) I will be attending the parade for the first time in 4 years which will be another first for CBOTW Media. Then on Saturday, I will be attending Halton County Radial Museum's Christmas Streetcar event, sorry if I messed it up.

The following week I am back out and about again, this time to Toronto for the Toronto Christmas Market and this will indeed be the final event for 2023 as we wrap up what has been a crazy and busy year with a full year of events. Truly am blessed to have all these opportunities this year including going to Halton County Radial Museum 3 or 4 times. We got our money's worth out of our membership with em. This year even saw us with a one or two new events and also returning events that has been absent off our website for many years. With the events wrapping up next week, means more time for content which we really need to get back on the high horse with as we've fallen off. Anyways more will be coming in the way of updates for now I will talk to you all tomorrow!

The Royal Winter Fair 2023

My job never ends, from podcasting to blogging to editing to going to events and Fairs this year has been eventful I can honestly say. Anyways this is the 101st Royal Agricultural Winter Fair and unfortunately missed the 100th last year but heard from a vendor that it was very busy place last year. Anyways they had Tack for horses and going with the theme of the Fair being equestrian, farm, also crops and farming. Also Fudge which we got my mom a piece and I tried a chocolate Cheesecake and will talk about that the food review posts with the samples and the meals I had out.

Of course they had cheesecake, Food court area with basically what they had 4 years ago when we went there last. They had beef jerky which we tried some and bought some for ourselves as we tried it and again I will talk about it on the blog later. They had a lot of things even Salami's which we found out Port Perry has a Farmers Market in the late spring, summer and early fall. They had Holstein show for the 5 year old cows and also another one that we saw late called the Summer Herfer class. They have their gourds, not as many as they did 4 years back, they had the grains as always which I did a comparison for my dad via an app for photos. They had chickens which I have a cool 3 second video of the Rooster crowing and chickens being chickens. Also have the Super Dogs in their own section a kids play area. Also saw the bees as always, found the queen very quickly. Finally we saw the Rode Ponies and the 3 horse hitch which was really cool in the Coliseum along with art, shirts, cup and much more. I could go all day but that is the post for now, I'm sorry this was overboard but thank you for reading and I will speak to you all at 1 pm ET.

Christmas Market Is Happening This Year-- I'm Not Breaking My Word!

The title doesn't lie, I know the Christmas Market is happening, but I refuse to go as we're still in a pandemic and I am not about to risk myself getting sick. Not only that, I already told you guys that I wouldn't be going to events till next year and that promise will not be broken whatsoever. I have a plan and I honestly need to stick to the plan moving forward and I am not about to break the promise or my word. I do not care, I am not getting sick for anything, not risking my life and getting sick from a  pandemic. I know and realize that there will be restrictions and limitations at this event but still we have to travel from here to Toronto by train and back and I am nowhere near ready for that far of a journey. I really do not care about going to Toronto right now my health and safety is more important then some Market right now.

Remember what I said-- I would start with local events first in my region not Toronto right straight off the bat and I plan on keeping my word on that to be honest.  Why rock the boat at the moment? I just not feeling that ready to actually make this move, not right now/ I don't care if I am being called stubborn, I am doing what is best for me in the end. Like I said my health means more then anything in the world right now then going to Toronto. It will happen in the nearby future but not right now. That is all I have to say on this matter and it is too early to take the risk and rock the boat. We still have between 300 - 600 cases a day which is quite high and now it is not the time to play around like this. I will talk to you tomorrow for the end of the week updates.

Getting Anxiety for Going Back To Events and Food Reviews In 2021!

I know I shouldn't be anxious with going back to events. However I am worried about going back and questioning if I will be back at events right away when they start in Spring 2021 or hold off. Honestly I cannot over think things nor plan  too far ahead of myself. I do not want to promise something that I cannot keep so right now we are waiting on the decision. Yes I got some events that I want to do and I may ease back on the schedule as it will be too soon with actually and I want to ease myself back to events. I may end up cutting out a few events such as Rib Fest, Polish/Ukrainian Festival, some of the bigger events that I have been too and I want to ease it back not rush back into all events so not everything will be on the schedule technically. We will see how things go. It will depend on the status of the pandemic at this time next year to what and if the pandemic is lower and if I really wanna travel into Toronto, because I may not be going to any Toronto events even next year, I may end up waiting for Toronto events and may just stay local for now.

Again this does depend how things are and if we ended up going into the second wave of this pandemic so right now I need to focus on now. I know it's taken a hit on the content as right now we've halted events and food reviews and the views are really down with the site? No, it's been full speed ahead and with the changes that we have made with the website has helped us. However in the end, eventually we will end up back to events and food reviews and I know Larry and I owe you guys a food review from Pop Eyes and we were on our way to do one but this pandemic hit and and now we're without those reviews. Also we or I was planning to return to Toronto Union Station to actually return to the Pizza Pizza to try their food again but I guess that is on hold. Soon I hope soon enough we will have news that we can travel around again and get around once again but we had to just continue to be patient. I will not or try to not get anxiety over returning to a normalcy but right now I have a bit of anxiety but that's all normal. What I have to do is take things one day at a time and baby steps.

I have one other event that is on stand by and that event is the Italian Festival and my dad mentioned there is more then one Italian Festival but have to figure when the second one is but I will eventually I am sure.

Made Some Decisions With Events..

I just completed the events list for this year and I had to take out 2 events for this year as I felt like it wasn't a fit for this year. Trust me the decision isn't  easy to make whatsoever but it had to be done and I know some people will not be happy but I am doing what is best for me and Chris B On The Web at this point. Here are the 2 events, I pulled out of for this year:

  • Peony Festival (Locally Here In My Hometown)- Since it lands on Father's Day this year, it will not be a fit into the schedule as I wanna spend time with my dad and is more important, however we could slip it in but I really rather spend time with my dad, as it is more important. Honestly my dad is getting older and I wanna spend as much time with him as possible and there is plenty of other events out there throughout this year to go to.
  • Autism Celebration (Also Locally Here)- Last year I felt like there wasn't a great turnout and I just had a really hard time deciding but I have decided to move on from this event. Don't get me wrong, I loved going to the event each and every year but I wasn't too pleased with the turnout. Now if Kerry's Place emails me about it then I could possibly go but right now there is no plans to go to the event this year but like I said if there is high request for me to return, I can put it on the schedule but I need to hear it from you guys first.

That is the two events I am not going to as I said this was really hard decision to make in the way of events that will not work for me this year. I do not like making decisions like this but again I need to do what is best for me and CBOTW.  I am being honest how I really feel on this. Sometimes it is best to just move on and I think that is what I need to do. What is the plan for the future? I am already ahead of my schedule by printing off 25 copies and putting it into a package to hand out publicly eye, especially people start chatting with me as well, this is a great way to get it out there is by the word of mouth. I wanna have 2 different ways of promoting CBOTW and the two ways is by going 1) to events locally and in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area and 2) by promoting it out in the public eye. I am taking a different direction this year and hopefully this will indeed help me in the long run of getting known but I think I have gotten well known this year. You never know, people could recognize me in the public and end up chatting with you guys. If you see me publicly here in Ontario, do not be afraid to say hi. As for the events, I am happy with the decision  I think the lineup I have which you will find out on Tuesday's blog post to what is the final decision on the events.

Presto Mishap Last Weekend At The Royal Winter Fair (Throwback Thursday Story)

As you all know back on last Saturday, I went to The 96th Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto. You all do know that everything at the Royal went fine, there was no problem with that which brings me up to towards the end where I just lost it and got mad out of nowhere. I let my head wander on our way back to the Horse Palace and that is when I realized I did indeed forgot to tap out on my Presto Card. What is a presto? I put money on it that I can tap on and off my local transit but also Go Transit, TTC and other transit systems that use the Presto system here in Ontario or the Greater Toronto Area. At first I was livid, pissed off. Not at my dad, I was more pissed off at myself and I ended up putting myself down, calling myself stupid that I indeed forgot to tap off. We all make these mistakes but my main concern was the fact I was going to lose money on my card due to this very stupid and idiotic mistake I made. Yes it really sucks but it is just another life lesson I have made and I need to learn to remember and I know at these events it can be hard to remember everything. There is so much that processes in my head during these and so much to see and do there so I can see where my head was wondering off on me. Also the fact I was so excited to be there and see what the fair gave us this year.

There is a second side of this, Presto has changed things around where it cuts it off at a certain point when you forget to tap off let's say from where I live all the way into Exhibition Place in Toronto, they will cut off the amount at Toronto Union Station which is great. They never use to have this before and before it was really dumb the way they had it and one of my former staff from back in the YouTube era that helped me made the same mistake as I did but he had to get the amount put back onto the card but I didn't. I re tapped and tried to tap twice but it wouldn't let me so it automatically tapped off for me when I made the mistake. I like the new system they got now, it is so much better and I didn't have to call up Presto to fix my screw up. It would of taken me a day or two for it to get back on and I would of had to re fill my presto card at the ticket booth. If Exhibition ticket office wasn't opened we would of had to take the streetcar to Union to re fill it which meant extra time in Toronto itself but least that wasn't the case as my dad looked it up on our way home on the train. Was a eventful day and even with this slight mistake that was made I am going to learn from it and not make this mistake again in the near future.

Events Start Next Week (I Cannot Wait!)

The hard and long months are here as I start going to tons of events for either Chris B On The Web or Promoting Chris B On The Web. All I know is I am ready to go and all of this goes down a week tomorrow, (Saturday, September 15th, 2018) with both the Ukrainian Festival and also the Polish Festival so I will be more then busy that weekend as events start and this is a week and a few days before I leave for Minnesota for 6 days for a wedding so it is a great way to start the events off this year. I have been covering the Ukrainian and Polish event since 2014, yes even when I was still back on YouTube I vlogged the event and but now is a little different with pictures and written text but that's OK I enjoy either of the two of the events. So I will be attending this event all day long and I have been excited for this phase of the year and this event in particular and look forward to eating some amazing food once again. I forget what I ate last year but probably the same thing as last year I will eat again I am sure.  Then the next event probably will be Autism Celebration which I actually do not have a date for it yet. Followed by that will the Apple Festival that is next, then the Royal Winter Fair as well. As for the parades I am not sure which ones I have scheduled nor if I will be at the one here this year or not, unless I get an email to volunteer but I hope I could attend the event to cover it with Chris B On The Web. I want to attend the Port Perry Parade to make up for not going to Tyrone due to the fact it's actually on my birthday this year.

Fall is officially here and the fun is just about to begin for me and I know I will enjoy the event and I do realize I had a job interview and I may have to cancel but I will let you know as of next week what is the plan so this event is schedule but I may have to cancel going to the event due to work duties does come first so I know I will make the right decision when it comes to events. Yes I wanna work again as it has been nearly 3 years and it is time for me to start earning money again. That will help me with continuing on with Chris B On The Web for sure. So anyways, I am once again rambling once again but I will let you guys know what is what soon. If I do not hear anything by a week today, then I will be attending but like I said you guys will know couple of days in advance!
