French-Canadian Pavilion [Fiesta Week]

As you guys know I went to the French-Canadian Pavilion and I wasn't too impressed with some things. Let me get into it, the Meatpie (Tortiere in french) was good, it was more fine with the meat as my mom's is more chunkier which is probably just a preference honestly. I noticed it didn't have the potatoes like my moms but that could of been really mixed in but was edible. The Ragout which consists of Pork Meatballs, and chucks of pork was really good. I enjoyed every bite as my mom and I shared ours between each other and I enjoyed it.

However the Pea soup was not up to snuff for me, peas were crunchy and not like how my mom makes her as it is normally with split pea soup, so I didn't eat much of it and my mom had some of it not too much. We also got a Sugar Pie for the go which was fantastic which reminded me of my Great Aunt's Sugar Pie she gave me when we visited in 2007 which I had two different pies but let me know if you wanna hear the story of that I can certainly do that but we still have a pie to finish but it certainly and does remind me of hers. Anyways those are the blogs for the week, enjoy the rest of your weekend and I will talk to you all on Monday!

German Pavillion- Club Loreley

As you know this week, I am at Fiesta Week twice this week and yesterday I was at Club Loreley which is the German Pavillion. My dad and I had the Schnitzel with Potatoes and Sauerkraut. The Schnitzel was super good, large but really, really good. I ate every bite of it right to the end. Only thing I didn't finish was the potatoes as there was only two potatoes left but was a lot and why I didn't have anything for dinner but half a sandwich much later.

As for dessert, we had an Apple Strudel which was really good and couldn't use a fork to eat it so I ended up just grabbing the entire thing and eating it by hand. Was the best way to eat it. I give the entire meal 10 out of 10 all day long and 10 out of 10 for the dessert as well. I really enjoyed this and next year would like to go again with my parents but for a show instead as I'd love to see what the German dances are like. Get the entire experience you know what I mean. Anyways that is the post for today and I will talk to you all tomorrow.

Got a Couple of Events Next Week!

Next week will be a busy one for event wise for me. I will be at 3 local events. As you know Fiesta Week is next week and I will be at least 2 - 3 different venues for Fiesta Week:

Tuesday: German Pavilion- Will be looking forward to some food from Germany. I've had it before and really enjoyed it. Anything European is actually great, I enjoy it.

Friday: French-Canadian- As you know I am part French, part Slovak which that part you never knew about till today. My parents and I will be going together to the French-Canadian Pavilon and excited to have some French-Canadian food.

There is one more being added possibly and could be the Caribbean Pavillon in there between but depends on the schedule and what not. Still have to confirm that one way or another but will let you guys know. That is the post for today, I will talk to you all tomorrow.

Fiesta Week 2022

Tuesday, I got the privlege of going to the Polish Pavillion, the one that was closer to home for us. My dad and I went and I had the Perogies, Shish kebab and a Polish Sausage while he had a  cabbage roll, Polish Sausage and Perogies. I can say this the perogies were so soft and tender. It was so good and delicious. The Shish Kebab fell apart when I bit into the kebab and was so juicy and really, really awesome. When we went into the door the smell was so awesome so I knew right off the bat that the food was going to be amazing. I had no doubt about that whatsoever. We took the food down to the lake to eat it and then followed by a walk down at the lake to help digest the food.

Now Thursday, which was yesterday I went to the Italian Pavillion with my parents and they had lasgna and my dad had the rice balls that was breaded. My mom just the Lasgna alone. I had no issues with the sauce or pasta whatsoever. The only issue was the one Meatball were a little harder on the outside, bland but the other one was better so that is the only issue I really had with the meatball at the time. So I am afraid I cannot give a full 10 out of 10 but I can give it an 8 out of 10 due to the meatball was hard and I wasn't overly happy with it. That is today's post, I will talk to you all tomorrow for the end of the week update.

Fiesta Week 2018- Italian Pavilion

So on Saturday afternoon, I had the chance to go to the Italian Pavilion with my dad to try some more food. Now I love Italian Food and I saw something on the menu, that I probably never tried before and I will get to that very shortly. We were greeted by 2 gentleman at the door, we showed our passports as that is our ticket to get in. Paid for the passport the one time and it was the ticket in the door here on our. The only thing we had to pay for was the food as the passport been paid for back on Thursday. There was tons of choices for food, Cannelloni, Lasagna,  Veal Parmesan, Pizza, you name it!

What do we choose to eat? Well, my dad had Cannelloni which is stuffed with Ricotta Cheese and he had the veal Parmesan on a bun which I  had the veal not on a bun with the Cannelloni on the side as I am trying my hardest to stick to my diet as much as I can but it cannot be helped at this point of trying all these different foods that we had at the two pavilions we visited last week. Now food wise, it was very tasty, not bland whatsoever. Had great flavor it was actually not bad. The Cannelloni I tasted, instantly fell in love with it right off the bat. I wanted to take another bite and another bite right to the last bite. The meat was so tender and flavorful, it practically melted in my mouth actually.

So I would definitely recommend the Italian Pavilion but I recommend both that I have been to last week. I just had a piece of dry meat at the Ukrainian Festival that's all. I enjoyed going to the Fiesta Week and would like to go once again next year and we got a couple on the list we would like to go to. Caribbean Pavilion, French-Canadian, the other Polish Pavilion so we got our list already made for Fiesta Week 2019 and trust me I am looking forward to it once again next year!

Fiesta Week 2018- Ukrainian Festival

Late Thursday afternoon I went to one of the pavilions for the Fiesta Week 2018. I particularly went to the Ukrainian Pavilion for food with my parents. It was fun and the food was really good. The only thing that did bother me was the fact the pork cutlet was a bit dry and bland. I know I am starting to sound like Gordon Ramsey but it was the truth. Was off then I am normally use to with Pork Cutlets. My mom gave me a piece of hers and was a bit better but sometimes I am quite the picky kind of person. I got a bit of Chef Ramsey in me minus the yelling and what not. Least I know when something is bland and that it needs more flavor to be added to the food.

I know the cabbage rolls were like my moms but I still ate it regardless and I actually still tastes really good. Finally the perogies were really good like usual. I actually got to eat at Lviv Hall before as I had my Friday Night End of the Season Bowling banquet.  Instead of having pork cutlet it was a Shish kebab. This Kebab actually had no breading compare to the ones we actually had during the Fiesta Week was different but still looked amazing anyways. Finally it felt quite nice to be back at the hall as it has been several years, maybe 10 years at the least since the last time I was there for the banquet but the hall hasn't changed a bit since the last time I was there.

My final words for today's post is I will be back at another Pavilion and I believe it is the Italian Pavilion we are planning to do and I will be posting up a blog post Sunday while I am certainly busy with Larry Rieck here in Studio recording 2 different podcasts but the blog post will about the second pavilion and what I thought about the food I have tried there. I hope you enjoyed this small synopsis about the Ukrainian Pavilion and I look forward to reviewing another one tomorrow.

Fiesta Week 2017!

Crazy week this week hence the blogs both on chrisbontheweb.com & Soapbox have not been going up as I have been out and about in the community this week at events and interacting with the rest of the community, even on my way back from an appointment I interacted with another member of the community which is awesome and the word out about Everything About Reality TV gets outs faster then you think. Don't get me wrong but I love doing both blogs and the podcast, just i gotta get out of my studio here sooner or later. So with that I went to Fiesta Week which is a celebration of many different countries and get a chance to try many different foods from all around the world! Trust me posted tons on Twitter and Google Plus over the last few days with pictures of what I have been up to and just posted up another picture on Social media not long ago. There is a parade on the Sunday before the week and the opening of pavilions during the days at certain hours begins.

The first Pavilion I went to was on Wednesday and it was the Krakow Pavilion, also known as the General Sikorsky Hall here in my city. There was all the different types of Polish food, Cabbage Rolls, Shish kebab, Polish Sausage. Trust me it was a great time and great food. The second best part of the night was the entertainment. I loved hearing a bit of Polka and traditional Polish music was a great way to end the night. I had a blast, great food, followed by great music and entertainment.

Despite my busy schedule today I managed to get out to the Romanian Pavilion and I wasn't sure if I would like the food but WRONG! I absolutely loved it! I know it was meant to be a little drier then I normally have when it comes to meat but I loved the flavor overall and that one spice gave it such an amazing taste and I had fun once again, was an hour but was worth the 1 hour of being out of my studio. Below is some pictures I took at the event, have a great night!
