Organization is Important!

Yes, it has become a chaotic morning here at the studio but this is where organization comes into play. I know I didn't get my notes finished like I wanted to and I had to finish them this morning but almost got it done about half way. Usually I'm really good with the interview questions and takes me an hour but I am really thinking deeper with questions actually. I wanted to go deeper honestly with the questions and come up with some neat questions.

However this isn't about the podcast this is about organization. I know I have spoken about this topic many times in the past both the podcast and on the blog here. So the basic things I am focusing on is getting the notes done for this afternoon's podcast and recording the bonus episode which will be back on YouTube that is on the list of things to do today. Also I have another interview today. Last interview for now as I do not have anything schedule for now. Which is OK with me. I'm sure something will come up again but what I am trying to say is that organization is important. Yes I know Power Rangers is important and I am due to record with Larry in week but trying my hardest and at this point I may need to make a decision to start recording in December instead. With Organization sometimes you need to remember personal life has to be mixed in there with work life. You cannot always be working. Anyways I need to be more organized and need to better to get everything done at a proper time. But that is the post for today and as always I will talk to you all tomorrow!

New Strategy With Keeping Organized

I have come up with a new schedule and came up with this whole method when it comes to keeping organized with content and getting things done. Now not everything is listed as I do have two other things on my list but this gives you a bit of an idea what my list looks like. It lays out my week and what needs to be done during the week. However I have to make sure to actually be prepared as interviews can pop up at anytime. I after all have 6 of the 7 days available for those.

I hope this will be helpful for me to getting me on track to sticking to the schedule as you guys know that I am behind schedule on and off recently. This is why I am now working on getting into a more of a routine and maybe this is actually something that I am missing is a routine. Sometimes I do not even go by a routine and routines are good and to have structure is good. This should help me moving forward and getting things done in a quicker pace. That is the post, thank you to those who read this post and I will speak to you all tomorrow.

Organizing Myself With My Work!

I know the workload hasn't been all done or been completely done but something always comes up and that's really OK.  I know the collab has a high priority and I am now back at it between recording the weekly podcast and I am aiming to finish up watching hopefully by the time you guys see this, I am now typing the next collab notes up for the next one. I really gotta make a stride in those but this isn't a post about the collaboration podcast this is more about  myself organizing myself. However, prioritizing yourself to what actually comes first and having a list is very important, especially now for me on a very big grind on one of the projects that I have been working on and you all know which one I mean as I mentioned it on here. I know everything has to be done and it will be eventually. Just gotta take those small steps to completing it all.

It takes time to get it done and somethings take longer then normal and that is perfectly OK really. Sometimes you need to switch between your priority list perhaps and that's OK. One thing comes up you deal with that and then go back to your main project you are working on and exactly what I have been doing. I am really good at weaving between projects so I am most definitely use to the switch around on projects. I am a very organized person normally but right now my world is pretty much flipped upside down and inside out with all this collaboration podcast work that is going on here in the studio and on top of that working on episodes of Entertainment Man Podcast in the process. I should just hand the reigns and let Larry be the Executive Producer for once. He truly has earned that title honestly. However a post for tomorrow. I write everything down but not only that but I also add it to my sticky notes on my computer too so I can actually remember what I need to get done and in a timely fashion and trust me I do. Anyways that will do it for the blog today, I will talk to you guys tomorrow!

I Think I Am Getting Better At Handling Stress!

It has been a whir wind of a last 2 years since coming off of YouTube and into the podcasting world, I admit I have shown my level of stress between then and towards the end of last year but recently I have seen change in my life, the way I deal with stress. I have been utilizing a lot of the tools that I have learned and I think things are starting to sink in now that I need to get things done and stop feeling down and sorry for myself and have to get down to the nitty gritty and I have been as you can see I have been quite busy lately and very much active on this here blog and also on social media not as much but getting into posting more often. Instagram goes up and down in the numbers but that's OK tho and I am use to it. Eventually I will have my break on Instagram to get more followers down the road.  The fact now I don't let it bother me even if I lose followers as it re builds up and there are people who are so dedicated to supporting me and the blog & podcast, I am ever forever grateful for having the fans.

I really am using a list of things I need to do, I just wrote down what needs to be printed off in the way of items for my board or to remind myself to record a podcast which mind you I am pretty good at remembering and I know my schedule a lot. I always write down what has to be done for events or whether its content related, I sure as heck know how to actually get things done on time. I know right now the scheduling is a tad off due to my very hectic schedule with events this fall as I have said many times in the past, this is my busy time of the year but it will be settling down in December and when things get quiet. I got a couple of things planned for my alumni and I getting back together for a possible Christmas get together to celebrate Christmas together. I will explain more next week in the mid week after the Autism Celebration event has concluded and things start to settle down a bit for me around the studio.

Finally, I like to go by a timetable, it gives me a bit more structure to my days or nights as I am writing this very, very late. Sometimes I do things off the cuff as I got nothing else to do and decide to write or just work on things and get a head start on things before they are due to be finished or ready for events for an example. Some of the content I can do off the cuff for example, these blog post ideas just come to my mined when I wake up in the morning and I just write. Sometimes my titles do not come till after I am done with the post so that is what I mean by off the cuff. I think I am getting better at the stress thing as I explained, I am just getting better at it and able to handle my work load a lot more and I always persevere through the thick and thin of things as well.

I Truly Need To Be More Organized With Everything Involving CBOTW!

I haven't been ever since just before Easter, not the most organized person in the entire world recently, however, I am wanting to rectify all of the issues and lack of organization fixed and fast, I do not want to lose the fan base whatsoever and this year I have had tons of love and support this year so far so I know you guys are being patient and yes I am still new to the podcasting world but this is ridiculous of being not on schedule. I will explain a few of my faults.

First fault I would like to note is when the week leading up to Easter Sunday, I was away from the studio quite a lot over the course of the week and I didn't schedule things too well. I could of released Survivor in the late Afternoon, which I was suppose to but I didn't. Next was the Big Brother Canada 6 RECAP, I had to re schedule with being away in Toronto and was aiming at Saturday afternoon to record and non of that was done. The next fault I made, was the week I was out of town at the Big Brother Canada Live Eviction which I cannot talk about production (Sorry!) but I was away for that and I just didn't recover from it since. Also note that was the time I was dealing with my back woes which you guys know a lot about by now, that has been a factor in  the scheduling has been extremely poor and I understand your frustration over it. Let me say I stayed up all night last night during the night to just get things done and plus I just couldn't sleep as I had a lot on my mind. Yes a lot of the things on my mind, is the website, being behind on podcasts, getting blog posts out, getting ready for the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers so there is a lot going on in my head 24/7.

My first thing I want to fix the scheduling with the podcast as it was a mess and content out on time is my number priority from anything else with Chris B On The Web and hopefully by end of this week, I will have accomplish that goal with being on schedule as I enter the Finale Week for Everything About Reality TV Big Brother Canada 6 Recaps and I am planning to record this morning, edit as much as I can this morning, finish up when I get home then up in the evening before I am in bed. Then Thursday morning, back to the regular routine tomorrow morning with Survivor Ghost Island, lets hope podcasts.com lets me uploads. Then Friday morning recording it it goes up in the evening then next week is a new week! That is my plan and I plan to stick to it and start fixing what I have messed up little over a month ago.

I Need To Be Organized and Focused With Chris B On The Web

I realize now, I need to be more organized with Chris B On The Web with the most important to get done to the least important. It comes along the line what is the most important on the list and of course I know podcasts and these blog posts are up there in the most important at all times as I need to keep you guys up to speed with content, so definitely it is on the list, however I have to put into consideration my website, the heart and soul behind Chris B On The Web that hosts a multitude of website only content such as interviews with my former staff, interviews with my fellow CICE Students from Durham College and plenty more ChrisBOnTheWeb.com website ONLY content coming this year as well. So to juggle all 3 of those it's not easy but I gotta stay organized, stay focused on the tasks at hand. Yes there is other work that needs to be done besides the website but these are the 3 most important.

I know the last few days, you can tell on social media, I haven't been myself and for the first time in about a week I missed a blog post which is very much rare for me as I always have something to say on the blog here but I actually missed a day and usually I miss at least one blog post a week normally, as it is normally due to work load or just busy with my regular everyday life but I admit I haven't been very organized lately but I sure as heck am trying to stay organized as much as possible but at times it can be quite difficult of a task but if I wanna get things done, I do need to get things done and faster then it has been.

So yes I do need to be more organized to getting things done and I am planning on using both my sticky note pad here on my computer but not just that, use my calender on a regular basis to help me stay organized and stay on track with everything going on with Chris B On The Web & ChrisBOnTheWeb.com

How Do I Catch Up On Work, I am Behind On?

So how do I catch up on work that I fall behind? Well first of all I make a list with the most important thing at the top of my list to the least most important and I go from there.  I mean it is hard enough to keep up with the work load and I find making a list with the most important to the least important and I find it easy to work with. Now how do I make the list, what do I put this list on? Well first of all I have my black folder book with the pad of paper in it and I use the note pad I have in the book and write them 1 at a time. Sometimes I don't always use the book but majority of the time I do. Right now I can say I am not using it, I resorted to not using it however in the next paragraph I will tell you what I am currently using to help me out.

What I am using and it is quite good to use. Since Windows 7 came out the app with the sticky notes, I started to utilize since I was in college back in 2010 so I started writing down what is the most important thing to get done to the least important and if I had like due dates or in this case with Chris B On The Web the date I need it done and right now I COULD use this technique or both what I said above as right now I am complete chaos with my work load with planning the preview for Amazing Race and prepping for Survivor and now the announced Big Brother Canada, so I think I am going to start utilizing this right away this way I know what needs to be done.

So I highly recommend this techniques as it has helped me in the past and it sure does make life so much easier to manage life and to get things done when they are set to be done, especially when you have to get it done for the specific time like I go through on a regular basis. If you do not use this technique then you are destine to fall behind on things just like I am right now, so I highly recommend this technique and let me know if this works for you or what you use to help you stand on track!

Staying Organized, Keeping On Track of Things!

First of all, I am sure you guys are going to ask, Chris, how are you so organized with the podcasts, blog posts, events you go to, scheduled recordings of the podcast and so forth? Well I always use and utilize my calendar/agenda/planner, whatever you guys like to call it. But it helps, I put in my appointments like YMCA in the 2 pm and so on. Also when I record my podcasts I set a time to sit down and really record the podcasts. I usually tend to record in the afternoon so its ready to go onto chrisbontheweb.com, podcasts.com, Stitcher.com & Tunein.com. However when I schedule my recordings I put this in at the allotted time, for example Everything About Reality TV Podcast, Recording. When it comes to a podcast being released I put it in both my calendar that sits on or near my desk everyday as it is easy to access, but also it is in my Google calendar which you can see on my website on the front page below the image slide show on the left side next to the twitter feed. What is good about having both my physical calendar here on my desk, but my cell phone is hooked up to, which actually does make my cellphone beep when a podcast or an event so either way it reminds me something is coming up within an hour as it is set to go off one hour or half hour before the event or for me to post up my podcast up comes up. So both are a big big help and i highly recommend it!

Now you will ask me how do I know what needs to be done on a regular basis, Well, I have my black folder that has a line pad of paper in there and I write down what needs to be done, along the line of having a list of different topics when there is nothing on my mind, I can do some of them and I have been inspired on ideas for the near future as well. Now not only I write them down I use an app on my computer called Sticky Notes and I tell ya it is great! I love to use them all the time, it helps me keeps me organized! If you got windows 7, 8, 8.1 or Windows 10, I highly recommend to use it. It is worth it! Anyways thank you guys so much for reading this blog and I will do another post a little later on.

Have a great night,

Chris
