Harvey's Food Review

In the last week or so I have had the opportunity to actually have take out for the first time in a while that didn't involve Little Caesars Pizza outside of that to be honest. Anyways I had a Hamburger with Fries and I forgot how Harvey's tasted as it has been almost 10 years or at least 10 years since I have had anything from there. Last time I was at Harvey's was with my friends Terry aka Lobster Head (LOL) and Angie and that was after a General's Game and I totally forget what year but I remember what day and that happened to be New Years Day I went to the 2:05 pm EST Gennies Game. So it's been a while and I'd have to ask him what year but it could of been at least 10 years as I have been going to game with them on and off for many years now! Anyways back to the review as I am way off the Beeton Path so to speak. The Burger has my usual, mustard ketchup, relish, onions and pickles which these one were long and thinly cut which were cut. Which reminds me I have another throwback story how I became a fan of Pickles which I just wrote down actually so I remember this for future weeks to tell these kind of stories to you guys.

Now the fries were really good and I gotta admit my favorite on top of New York Fries, Mr. Burger, Wendy's fries. Yes McDonald's unfortunately did not make my list as I find those too salty for my liking as they put on a little too much and that how I really feel. Now the burger as I said had Pickles, Onions, Relish, Mustard and Ketchup and the first thing I gotta admit is the egg like bun, it had the Soft Bun Action (SBA) as Daym would say on his YouTube videos. I did drop the box on the convertible box to make sure they put everything in there and was all accounted for. The patty was so tender and juicy and the addition of the pickle action game gave the burger a definite 10 out of 10 and I need to add to my list my favorite burger places in town including the one at the mall. Finally the French Fries were crispy and lightly salted nothing too over done and I would give it a 10 out of 10. I will be back to Harvey's in the nearby future and never know I may try something else off their menu and I may just review it for you guys!

Favorite Soups To Eat!

I realize this could be a boring post but going to try and make it as entertaining as I can. In today's post I want to talk about soups. I love my soups, especially on a cold day. I have so many favorites personally and it will be utterly impossible to go through em all. Anyways here is my list of favorite soups:

1) Chicken Noodle- Whether it is the Lipton kind of even the Campbells, I love it and makes things all better especially when I am sick (which I am not insinuating I am) but I love it and always been a favorite of mine since I was a kid.

2) Matzo Ball Soup- Now last time I had this was ages ago, I was a kid still at the time. This was at Shopsy's in Toronto which not many or any left but I did look it up one in Toronto near Queen so I am going to definitely go back there when this is all over with this Pandemic.

3) Potato and Leek Soup- Talk about Hearty soups and I really love Leek Soup it is just scrumb diddly umcious as Ned Flanders would say on The Simpsons.

4) Beef and Barly Soup- Haven't had this one in a while now but definitely on my list to make again down the road. It has been a while since I have had it actually but always enjoy it as it is another hearty soup.

5) Turkey Soup- Love this one too and we always make it with left over Turkey from Thanksgiving or even Christmas time it's a great way to use left overs from holiday favorites one way or another.

6) Finally on my list is Vegetable Soup. I had it for the first time in years as my mom recently made it towards the end of the winter but all I can say my mom's, Aunt Margaret when she was still alive and grandma's soups are the best!

There is my top 6 list of soups, I enjoy and like I said there is more on my list but then this post would be an endless ramble of me going on and on about soup! One honorable mention is the Cabbage soup which is one of my faves and I wish I honestly listed it above but least I am giving it an honorable mention.

Chicken Quesadilla-- Taco Bell Food Review

I can say never again, I will have the Chicken Quesadilla from Taco Bell. Let's just say I wasn't pleased with it whatsoever. I was quite unhappy. The fries seem not too good even to the other store I went to in a previous food review.  The fries were not salted too well honestly so I will give it a 2.5 out of 5 as it tasted just bland honestly. Now the Chicken Quesadilla, there wasn't much in the meat inside it. There was a part where it was just flat with no meat whatsoever. Honestly I felt like there was just not enough in the meat more cheese that was in there. I feel like this was a 2 out of 5 this time around and I do not think I will even go back to that store at the mall for the food. Honestly this is my first bad review that I have done with Taco Bell and I honestly do not like doing these negative reviews but I gotta be open to the negative ones as well. I haven't had a problem with them in the past and just do not why. I kind of should of just got back to the burger place and have the Aussie burger which was the first initial thought but I went with Taco Bell.

Well that is my review and sorry it wasn't overly exciting as I wasn't expecting this and I do not think I will complain about it to the company themselves as I know I just do not want to be a complainer and honestly it wasn't bad and I made an OK review and I hope this will not turn me off of Taco Bell but like I said yesterday, never again I will have the Chicken Quesadilla ever again. It is what it is and nothing I can do and I tried it and it is good I tried something new on their menu. I am always up to trying something new on the menu and there is nothing wrong with that. Well that is it for this review, I hope you guys enjoyed this food review and I have said this before but another one is coming soon with Pop Eyes in about a week and a half from now.

Johnny's Food Review- Triple Decker Grilled Cheese W/ Ham!

I know this was almost a week ago, but I had other content on the go for the website at the time and it went to the bottom of my list for now. However I decided to slip it into the schedule this week before I totally forget to do this honestly. Honestly it was starting to slip my mind but honestly as you guys know, I was at Eric's for Survivor premiere and we decided to go back to Johnny's. I know, I've done 2 reviews on the restaurant with this being my 3rd review and I am pretty sure you guys are tired of it but hey you guys enjoy this food review so I am going to do it. I know you can sense sarcasm from me but that is who I am some days, I tend to have a bit of sarcasm some days, ha-ha. So to the review, enough of me rambling on about myself. I had the triple Decker Grilled Cheese with Ham in it. Not just one piece of ham but to and it was a good thickness to it. However, I found it really, really good and I may try it here at home for myself but it was good. Now as you know I give the reviews 5 but this time around I am giving it a 10 all day long! Yes I know it has been an up and down with Johnny's but for the most part a positive experience for both of us and Eric actually had the same thing as me. The Grilled cheese was so soft, so gooey, was really really good.

Now we even mentioned we know what we are going to have to dessert which was their infamous Apple Pie and she even checked for us while we waited for our food and she gave us a thumbs up as she had 2 of them left and saved them for us which was really nice of her. Actually we had the same waitress from the previous time which was back near my birthday in December. Of course we had the pie afterwards and of course it still has a 10 all day. That hasn't changed at all, however I think next time I may try the Coconut Cream Pie for a change perhaps but we will see. I am still partial to the Apple Pie. I love it and really tasty... Honestly you cannot go wrong with Apple Pie and always love it. Oh I may as well throw this 2 more things to this post, the Owner or Manager knows us very well as we're there a couple of times in a year for special occasions or even the Survivor or Big Brother Premieres or Finales. Also the waitress also warmed it up for us slightly but it was really good as well. In March, Larry and I will be finally doing the Pop Eyes Food Review and I am looking forward to that actually and cannot wait to actually try it out for the very first time in my life.

Subway Food Review [01-20-2020]

The last 2 weeks I have been out eating once a week which is fine but gained weight so yesterday's post sure as heck went to waste but hey makes me wanna work even harder. Anyways last week I was up in the north end and Eric and I had Subway and trust me it wasn't the best experience and this is my food review for North end of Whitby for Subway at Garden and Rossland. Anyways the Pepsi was watered down a bit and didn't taste overly great and the sandwich had way too much Honey Mustard on it. So for the food and drink I will be giving it a definitely 1 as I wasn't too pleased with it whatsoever and I should of said something about the drink being watered down that was my own fault and I could of mentioned but they should be checking it but that is besides the point honestly. However this is the first bad review since last summer honestly so I have good rep or and have been on a good role with a positive reviews since. Last year wasn't a good year but hoping this year will be a good.

However in the end the service was a 5 all day as they were nice and very helpful to the both of us so it wasn't a complete failure honestly but it is what it is and I am unsure that I am going to be back anytime soon but we will see. I hope to maybe one day go back and revisit this location. That is today's post and boy I wasn't happy at all. Sandwich wasn't that bad just little too much honey mustard but what can you do. These things happen and honestly you cannot control it. Look I had 3 bad ones I hope to get a lower amount on the bad reviews but never know you could see me rant this year a few times but again we will honestly will see. I would like to go back to a couple of them honestly and that is for another time and another blog post. Hope you guys enjoyed this post and I will talk to you guys tomorrow for the next food review tomorrow at 12 pm EST.

Mr. Burger Bacon Burger Food Review!

Yesterday, my parents and I actually ate out for once and we went to one of our most favorite burger places here in town, Mr. Burger which is a very well known establishment. Now I made a decision yesterday to change up my order for once and I actually went with the Bacon Burger which all 3 of us split Onion Rings and Fries. First of all the Onion rings once again nice and juicy and crisp as always and of course I gave it a 5 out of 5 all day long as that rating has not changed from the past review. Fries good side fries and really good as usual and of course I give that a 5 out of 5 as well. Now onto the burger side of things as I said before I got a Bacon burger which had a very nice crispy bacon as I always love it. Had the ickle pickle as Daym calls it with onion mustard ketchup and relish which is my normal toppings and condiments for a burger when we have burgers whether it is here at home or out at a place.  The burger I enjoyed every last bite and it exceeded more then what I expected. I give it a 10 out of 5 as I said it exceeded expectations.

Finally please let me know in the comments below if you would like me to review something different on the menu and I will be sure to do that. I really enjoy these food reviews that I do for you guys and even tho that they are not at a great length of a post still you guys get a review one way or another. Now I have not once complained about the Burgers or any of the food and been going there since I was there when I was growing up so there is no complaining to really be made on Mr. Burger. Always a positive review and honestly I do not have too many negative reviews minus *cough, cough* Pizza, Pizza and a at least one other place on my holiday travel but nothing too too bad to complain about but that is always room for improvement if I have something negative to say which is very seldom of the time. Any one last things if you guys want me to go back to Pizza, Pizza let me know on social media or even in the comments and I will go back to the Union Station and give it another shot 6 + months later.

Johnny's Western Burger and Fries Food Review

Yesterday I went out for lunch with my friend Eric as an early birthday celebration and I have been here before in the past about 2 months before and yes I have been at Johnny's before that too with my worker and my family so I am very familiar with the establishment and the fact it is very close to Eric's place is a plus especially when it came to the Survivor Premiere and the Big Brother 21 Finale! Anyways the last time I was there I actually had a Corn Beef on Rye with Fries which were really good and I enjoyed it. Now to this review, I had a Western Burger. One thing I found with the burger, it fell apart so I am wondering if it was overcooked so I wasn't overly pleased by hey I still ate it regardless and the Peameal Bacon made up for the overcooked burger. Hey at least it wasn't RAAAW! as Gordon Ramsey would say. Anyways I probably give it a 3 out of 5 and I am being generous as I still enjoyed dessert so there was a bonus to that but other items I have had off the menu in the past so this time I wasn't happy but doesn't mean I wasn't happy before because I was very satisfied the last time around. The fries were just perfect for me, crispy and really delicious. They get a 5 out of 5 together.

However dessert I once again had the Apple pie which is a huge piece of pie honestly. However I did enjoy it this time around. I actually gave it a 10 out of 5 as I enjoyed it the first time around but this time around, still a 10 out of 5 so in total of the two times, I would give it out a 20 out of 10, 10 out of 5 each time. It was nice and fresh, Apples were really fresh and yummy inside the pie. They don't give you a small slice either it is a really huge slice of pie and that' fine with me I enjoyed every bite of it. I would definitely have the pie for dessert again next time I went there for sure. However I do not think I would have the burger again as it fell apart, it seemed dry and overcooked to me but that could be me all together. The staff there definitely get full 5 as they were amazing and we actually saw the Manager or it could of been the owner there yesterday and super nice to us and let us hang and take out time to finishing up our meal. Definitely go back and do another review for a different item on the list. There is my review and I hope you guys really enjoyed it and look forward to another one very soon and never know I may just do a Teddy's review next week when I go with my neighbor for lunch.

Pizza and Dessert From Kitchen Place Food Review!

Now it is obvious where I was now it is 48 hours now which equals 2 days ago technically but on the way back we went to the local grocery store which had warm food and when I say warm food I mean Pizza, whole chicken, some good stuff and reasonable prices too. So I grabbed Pizza, mainly Pepperoni and Cheese Pizza which had a nice hint of Oregano which we all know is a herb and tastes great in food. Anyways the first bite that I took and it was really fresh. It was also really super soft and very delicious as well and I really did enjoy it. My thought was just like my mom's homemade pizza that she makes from time to time which next time I eat pizza will probably be on my 34th Birthday this year. Now for the rating I would give it a 10 out of 10. It was really enjoyable and I would eat the Pizza again even if my dad and I even went there I would definitely have it again especially as it was really good.

However for the dessert, not as enjoyable as I was not happy with it whatsoever but I ate it. I found this chocolate and with some creamy stuff inside too sweet for my liking. Now yes I have a sweet tooth but that much of a sweet tooth honestly. Both Eric and I found it too sweet so it wasn't that great. Now if it didn't have the cream on top and just chocolate in the middle of the chocolate part that probably been fine but the way they had it and it is very hard to explain to you guys what I am talking about. I should of took a picture of all the food I had but I didn't. Either way I wasn't pleased with the result of the dessert so I probably, more then likely just like Eric not too happy with the dessert. However majority of the time I'd say there are tons of things that I do like and this dessert wasn't one of them on my list along with Sushi which is one I do not like whatsoever. Either way this dessert is getting a 1 out of 10 as I said I found it too sweet and that's OK, but I will give em a 5 out of 10 the way it was presented in the container and it did look good at the time but once I took a bite, I wasn't overly impressed. I hope you enjoyed this food review and I hope to have more like these again in the very nearby future.

Mckeck's Food Review 2019!

Last week, I was out and about with my dad and it was one of the two days I was out with him for the day. Anyways we had lunch over at Mckeck's Bar and Grill and mind you this wasn't the first time for me honestly. I have been there before I think I actually did a review last year or the year before but I would have to dig into the archives of 700 + posts that I have made over the years since February 2015 when I started making posts on almost regular basis. Anyways we arrived in Haliburton and got to Mckeck's and we put in our order. We had a craft beer which was from one of the local breweries there in Haliburton. I also ordered Chicken Caesar on a Wrap which had tomato wrap on it as well which was really good actually. The wrap itself was really good and filling as heck! Those kind of wraps are usually really filling. Least it was a more of a healthier choice since I am trying to be on this damn diet and honestly ever since has gotten out of control so I need to regain myself back on this after almost a week ago since eating out 2 days in a row. Now I also had kettle chips which is well known in the States. I was given several options and I am happy that I chose the Kettle Chips with the Chipotle Sauce. The sauce itself was spicy a bit but however it was still good with the kettle chips and I pretty much used up all the sauce too.

Now the wrap I would give it 10 out of 10 as it went above and beyond for a wrap and was so tender and crunchy and so good that it sure as heck deserves a 10 out of 10. I'd definitely have this dish again in the very near future as well. Also the kettle chips need a rating out of 5 and once again I actually give it a 10 out of 10 once again. Crunchy, lots of flavor and the size of them were quite big and it was a filling as well. The waitress was really good and super friendly so service is a definite 10 out of 10. Also the restaurant gets a 10 out of 10 as well as they really have good food and like I said I have been there in the past years as a year thing when my dad and I are up there for the fall colors. In the end I highly recommend this bar and grill as the food is really good and worth it all in the end. I will talk to you guys tomorrow for the Throwback Thursday Story post.

Mac and Cheese Grilled Cheese Food Review

Like I said yesterday, I wasn't planning a food review to be honest but anyways this is a spur the moment kind of review that I wasn't expecting. So I went something really out of the box and had Mac and Cheese. I know what you are going to say Mac and Cheese? Yes but it was in the Grilled Cheese Sandwich squished in the middle of the cheese and the bread. Now the outside bread had cheese on the outside as well and it is pretty much interesting and I was really unsure how to feel on the first couple of bites and I really had to look in the middle to see the actual macaroni in the middle that is when I figured it out why they call it Mac and Cheese so it was quite interesting sandwich that I had and something I feel confused about still even 2 days later I still wonder what I had. However to the review side of things the cheese was cooked perfectly, the cheese in the middle gooey and the macaroni not cooked but perfect. I honestly think it took me until the second half of my sandwich to really get the grasp of what I was eating honestly and I was truly confused but once I started to eat then I finally got the idea. So the review I would give it 3 out 5 as probably I wouldn't do it again as I rather have a normal everyday grilled cheese sandwich and I am trying to be generous.

I honestly am being generous in my rating, I could of technically given it a 1 and really not give em a good rating. However it was good but something I think more then likely I wouldn't have again in the very nearby future. It is not because of the taste its more likely I do not think macaroni goes with a grilled cheese. It's definitely an odd ball for food but that is how I roll these days and not only that but I am also all for trying new things and that is probably one of the reasons I wanted to try it. I wasn't going to originally eat as I was trying to follow my diet after eating out on Wednesday night so my entire diet is out the window and tomorrow I need to get back into it. I really wish I could give this review a higher rating but the way I am feeling about what I ate, I feel like that yes it was good but something I wouldn't eat again. However this is just my opinion and I know you guys enjoy these and I know at times I can be critical but I said it before, I am all for trying new things and honestly I thought it was Mac and Cheese in a bowl but I was quite surprised honestly.

Shoeless Joes- Buffalo Chicken on A Wrap Food Review

Now I admit I wasn't planning a food review honestly as you all know I was in Toronto for the Jays game and I rather squash that part of the night as I wasn't overly thrilled how the game ended and yes we left early as the game got out of control. That is all I wanna say but it was nice to see all the young guys play honestly. Now to the food review side of things which we went to Shoeless Joe's for dinner which is right along the harborfront in Toronto. So what did I have besides a glass of milk which didn't really taste too good but that's definitely not the point of this post of me complaining about milk. More then likely it was 2% which is not the one that I normally have which is 1% most of the time. So besides the milk, I had Buffalo Chicken on a wrap with fries on the side. Now you probably think hey Chris that is sort of healthy? Yes it was minus I think the chicken was breaded tho so that part wasn't so much but the rest of it was healthy. However it was a very good dish and I really did enjoy it and it was a little hotter then I thought really but still it was very delicious one way or another so it was worth having. Now the fries reminded me of the McDonald's french fries which were thin and long but they were really good as well. Little on the salty side for me as I just like a little bit of salt not too much. I also think they added a little of pepper but there was nothing wrong with it honestly but it was just a little excessive on the salt but overall still a great experience. Now my mom gave my dad and I her deep fried pickle which was really good and I have had this before at the Campus Pub when I was a college student between 2010 and 2012.

The rating for the wrap is a definite 10 out 10, not a 5 out of 5 as it exceeded expectations and I really wasn't expecting a spiciness to the Buffalo Chicken. Now for the french fries I wasn't overly happy due to the fact I felt like it was a little over salted so unfortunately I am giving it 3 out of 5 but still tasted good but it was a little over salted. Now the deep fried pickle was the best and like I said I have had this before so it is not my first rodeo when I first had it so it was worth a 10 out of 10 not my usual 5 out of 5 rating like I normally do on these food reviews. Overall experience was a 5 out of 5 as the server, she was really great to us and always helpful especially with out meals being a bit on the messy side but we had enough napkins and wet ones too to get our hands cleaned once we were finished. Was a great start to a very not so good ball game  as I thought the Jays would of won this and sweeping the Red Sox but it is what it is and hey the Jays still won the series 2 - 1 one way or another.

Orono Fair 2019 & Food Review

I have decided to put the Orono Fair and the food review that has been done at the fair together. I think it is best if both of those are put together. First let's talk about the fair portion of the fair. Also we went into the arena to see the flowers, arts and crafts and other things. We even saw the Zamboni which was sitting there at the corner by it's doors.  There were tons of tractors and there was even the teenagers driving the tractors in a tractor pull. We thought it was later but that was the adults for later on in the day in the evening. Anyways what tractors that were still sitting there, well I can say Minneapolis won by a milestone with 19 of them which probably could of been more then that. I remember when I was a kid the Cockshutt Tractors were the most that actually were there and back then it was at the back where they use to have the old tractor pulls. Anyways we moved on with seeing what rides, kids coaster, my favorite the Merry-Go-Round as I remember it as a kid. Also bingo which my mom and I did when she took me to the fair when my dad was out on his canoe trip on a couple of occasions. Now that was never there for the last few years I went there which was about 3 - 5 years ago since I went last and I remember it was with my niece and nephew was the last time we actually went to the fair. Also we saw ducks, goose, chickens and one duck being anxious with constantly being loud but it is what they do for sure. Also cows, goats, pigs, piglets. Also a Clydedale that staying neighing and stopping it hooves to get my attention. Not sure what the heck it is with me and horses, they seem to really like me. Finally we sat down to the watch the tractor pull and I thought they were going to stop half way but completely wow'd me and kept on going and did very well.

Now to the food review side of things. We had lunch first before we ended up walking around the grounds. We both had peameal Bacon on bun with Cheese and also one side order of fries. The bacon wasn't over cooked whatsoever, it was crispy a bit and very juicy and the cheese melted perfectly with it. It was very good and I really did enjoy the peameal on a bun which I normally do not get to eat here at home too often but the odd time we will do it from time to time. Now the fries, were good too. They were crispy and juicy and fully cooked through. They were freshly cut as they had the potato skins on it on the one side of the fries. It wasn't overly oily nor salty, just perfect which is the way I like it. We put on the Malt Vinegar which I haven't had in a very, very long time since the fries place at 5 Points Mall which now doesn't exist anymore as it was torn down and now made into a outdoor mall.  The Peameal Bacon on a bun I give a 5 all day and also the fries itself also get a 5 all day. I would definitely have that again next year but maybe I will do a pogo dog next year which I haven't had in a very long time. It was a fun 3 hours and getting away from the studio for that time.

Burrito Bar Food Review- Oshawa Centre

First of all, I'm sorry about the lack of posts on here from working on Billy's Podcast stuff to preparing for the next season of Everything About Reality TV to real life stuff I have been very busy person indeed. Yesterday I had the privilege of trying out Burrito Bar which I have been meaning to actual try out for a very long time actually. I have been saying I am going to try it out and it took me about a year or two to actually get the nerve. However where am I going with this? I was suppose to originally suppose to go to Subway, which was my initial first go to place but Subway was a zoo yesterday and I was looking at the menu for the Burrito Bar and I thought huh... Interesting so I decided since there wasn't many and yes it was around Lunch hour when I went for lunch as we were out to the Generals Training camp and we were in between sessions in the day.  So the food side of things, what did I get? I told the lady I have never been to their fine establishment at the mall and they guided me right through it without any issues. I give the service definitely 10 out of 10 not my usual 5 out of 5. Now to the food portion as you guys came by this post to read about the food review not have me ramble like I am right now.... smh. I ordered a Chicken Quesadilla with cheese, onion and tomatoes on it. I also added to the side salsa and Sour Cream as well. I would give it a 10 out of 10 not the usual rating as it went beyond my expectations and they sure as heck deserve the extra credit when credit is due and in this case that was today!

Now would I go back there again in the very nearby future? Yes! The next time I am there I plan on trying something different as there is not just one thing on the list there is a ton to choose from, different meats too from Chicken to Pork to Beef so there is definitely options I can go with and trust me I will be definitely be trying something different. I also think there is burritos as well that is on the list so I am definitely going to be trying that out down the road. So either way there will be a new review for quite some time and yes I may start doing monthly reviews but recently it hasn't been that, it's been twice a month or more especially when I was away on holidays but hey it is content for this very blog and Eric gave me this idea so I am nothing but grateful for the idea. Gives me content. I had to do this post before concluding the podcast series and I will get this done don't worry. Hope you guys enjoyed this review as I enjoy writing these for you guys. I will talk to you guys tomorrow on a Throwback Thursday Story!

Oshawa Rib Fest and Food Review 2019

Yesterday I went to the Oshawa Rib Fest 2019 which I haven't been to in several years as it use to be around the long weekend aka the Labor Day Weekend. However with this change recently it makes it easier for us to decide to go to the event. Now we originally were going to go to two different places but with the amount of food we had we decided to not go for it this time around and I will get right into it as I go forward with this post today. So we went to Pistol Petes for the ribs which is from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma USA. Now these ribs were not Pork ribs, these were actually Beef Ribs that we had. I admit it was my idea technically but was worth the idea. So like I said we were suppose to do two different places, however we ended up getting half a rack which was plenty enough for us to eat but we are going to change that next year and I will talk about it shortly.  Also on top of the half a rack we got a thing of beans on top of that. Now the ribs were tasty and fell apart as you bit into the ribs. Yes I know Beef ribs are more chewier then Pork ribs are but still very tasty. The sauce wasn't spicy and it almost had a bit of a sweet taste to it technically. Now I would definitely give the ribs a 5 out of 5 all day long. However the beans itself, I wasn't really keen on as I have never had beans with red peppers in it before. However the fact they also had kidney beans in it, still good, but it wasn't my favorite beans so I am going to be generous with this review an give it a 3 out of 5 as the beans were tender  and I liked the Kidney beans that were added into it.

After we ate we even grabbed a smoothie which was really good but it wasn't overly cool, not sure if they put in ice but it don't seem like it so again that would be a 3 out of 5 if I was to review it but it really isn't much of a review honestly. So we walked around after looked at what there was and there was entertainment which they were playing Elvis songs, "Jail House Rock" being one of them and also "Do You Love Me?" by the Contours originally and was featured on Dirty Dancing movie originally.  Also the Generals booth was also there as well probably promoting their upcoming season which I am going to be planning on several games this upcoming year. Overall the event was good however their was 2 more rib vendors 4 or 5 years ago then there was this year so I would give it a 4 out of 5 for the overall event and yes I am being quite generous actually.

South Street Burger Food Review

Originally I was suppose to be going to the movies but due to the weather and not feeling safe with it thunder and lighting yesterday, both Eric and I stayed in town but pretty much made the best out of it and hung at the mall which was technically fine with me plus he had some issues with his walking which was more of my concern. Now he gave me this idea for today's post which is South St. Burger here in my hometown at the local mall. Now I was nervous at the start to know how this is going to taste, whether it was under cooked or overcooked but no, it was non of those actually. Now I had the Aussie Burger which yes Aussie as a burger from Australia. So on this burger there was egg, yes egg which was a little overcooked as it was brown by that could of been from the butter. Anyways bacon was nice and crispy. Burger was nice and juicy and cooked up medium as I always like it. Not Raaaw as Chef Ramsey would say. Soft bun action as usual which I always like to have and I think they toasted the bun and I actually like it a bit toasted actually! Now the service was great, they took my order they got my soft drink very quickly on the tray. It only took a few minutes as they cooked the burger fresh so that is probably the burger was nice and tender when I bit into it. Now fair warning it was a bit greasy but still very good burger and ate every single bite. The Price was around $13.66 which is so close to 14 bucks, so fair warning it was a bit on the pricey side of things but still worth it in the end.

Now the rating on South St. Burger is definitely 5 out of 5 all day long. It is worth it like I said and the wait time is worth it as well. I will indeed be back and plan on doing another review down the road and something different down the road that will be determined maybe next month. Anyways I do have some plans for other reviews such as the Rib Fest I was thinking about attending and also in the fall I do plan on doing Popeyes etc but that will be decided later and I will do a list blog eventually. Anyways I enjoyed the meal and it is well worth the small wait and the money and I will be back, I will definitely recommend it to friends and family. I will go the entire 9 yards. I think the fact they staff there overheard me say "food review" they ensured my experience was really good and trust me it was really well worth it and I was nowhere near disappointed, I was highly excited on every last bite of the burger. I honestly did not think egg on a burger would go together but it did. I just wanted to go back for another bite right to the end. I am not overly a picky person and open to new things and this burger, was inspired to try from Eric as he had that about a month or so ago so that is the reason I wanted to try it.

Appleby's Restaurant- Watertown, NY Food Review

This is one of the toughest ones to actually write as I had not such a great experience. Now we mind you if you remember the post about the trip I did mention this restaurant well this is going to be the toughest one yet. So we got there, quaint place and very busy around the lunch hour but that's OK, we managed to not wait long before getting our seat. We ordered drinks and of course our food. We got our drinks and ended up waiting little over 30 minutes for food. Now that day I just wanted to get home, I was ready to get back on the road and home bound but we waited and waited. My mom and dad asked when our food and they went to check. They said it's coming and yet the food still didn't show the heck up and I was furious and losing my patience with them. I kept saying to my parents let's just walk out as enough was enough and the waiter overheard me saying that and ended up getting the manager as we felt frustrated. Manager came and said it is coming and that we wouldn't have to pay it was on them so that was really nice of him. However I wasn't remotely happy with the fact we had to wait this long for the food but in the end it is what it is.

Now to the actual food that I had was a Quesadilla Burger with Tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, red onions. Now it tasted very good and the burger was very juicy and never had a burger on a Quesadilla and this was an all time first for me honestly. I had fries with it on the side and those were tasty, not gooey. They were nice and crispy and the the flavor was really nice too, like some pepper on the fries which gave it flavor actually. The food I'd give 5 out of 5 all day long. There was nothing clearly wrong with the food, it was more the wait that really bothers me the most of this experience. The restaurant I am giving a 3 out of 5, despite the really long wait and I was going to be giving it a 1 but being generous as we did not have to pay for the food due to this inconvenience. I probably wouldn't go back at this particular location in the town but probably wouldn't be back through that town anyways as we are not planning to go back that way right now. Like I said to conclude these food reviews, this wasn't the easiest one to write to be honest but I am glad I am able to do these reviews. Next review will be a movie review of the Lion King Movie tomorrow morning.

Cheers, Boston Food Review!

The last place I went to on the trip in the way of eating was Cheers and yes I realize it is the name of the TV Show. Also it was the actual set of where they filmed the TV Show back in the days in the 80's into the early 90's. Yes I have seen an episode to see if I actually like the show and I did! I plan to watch more down the road too! Anyways comparison from back then to now its different. At one point it use to be a wide open as a bar but now has the front room which is quite quaint honestly and a back room with more space for eating and what not but still quaint place and really looks like the actual bar from the actual show which actually it is what my parents actually told me so. However it was filmed in Los Angeles technically. The bar was inspired for the show!
Now to the food part of it  I had a Cesar Salad with a nice home made mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was so creamy and gooey but really super delicious. Cesar Salad I had was so fresh and was exactly like the way my mom makes it here at home from time to time. Overall the experience of Cheers In Boston was great, the server she was so amazing! Big shoutout to her, I think her name was Sarah but that seems too long ago about 2 weeks now since we were there but either way she was really nice! I would give Cheers a 20 out of 5 as it was above and beyond our expectations compare to the food review that is about to come up in the less then 2 days, Friday to be exact as I am not for one looking forward to reviewing it and been dreading it for the past little while now but I have to deal with it and I will try to stay positive and nothing negative for the blogs sake which I have so far in the last 600 + posts I have done over the years. Tomorrow I am doing something different so stay tuned for that!

Have a great night! Sorry this is extremely late as I have been spending time with my niece and nephew lately!

Arby's- Kingston Ontario Food Review

First of all I have to say, I am sure you guys are enjoying these food reviews and today I am doing the first stop we made on the Boston trip out in Kingston, Ontario. As you know by the actual posts I made about the trip, we stopped there for Lunch and we stopped at Arby's and I had chicken sandwich which had Tomatoes and lettuce on it and it was really good! For someone that has never had Arby's it was worth trying! The chicken was so crispy and really good with the tomatoes and lettuce on it which I never tried lettuce with tomato on a Chicken sandwich but all worth it. Probably when I have chicken on a wrap, I'd more then definitely have tomatoes on it again. Soft bun on this sandwich as well which is always good. There was no sauce or anything but with the lettuce and also the tomatoes it gave it's flavor which was good. Chicken was cooked perfectly, not raw nothing. Now I would give this a 5 out of 5 and was one of the 4 or 5 that had a great review compare to some of the ones I did do. Service was really good, the girl who served me was super nice, friendly and made going to Arby's a breeze to get what I ordered.

Now would I go back to Arby's again in the future? Of course I would! I would definitely end up trying the Roast Beef as that is one of the items there that is very well know at Arby's next time I happen to eat at a Arby's as it is tough to go to one as there is only 1 here and 1 west of here by 20 minutes by car technically so it is hard to go to Arby's now and then as we do not have many in the area but when we get the chance then yes I would have it again. Overall it was a great experience and a great start to the holiday. The next review is Wednesday morning and it will be Cheers review, then again Friday with the final food review on the trip which wasn't ending the trip on a high note it will be like my worst food review as trust me I will not be holding back how I really feel about that. That is pretty much what is on tap in the way of food reviews and I am sure I will have some more in August with the Rib Fest if I decide to go this year and trust me I want to go to Rib Fest as an addition to it all.

Dunkin Donuts Food Review

On today's blog, I am going to review what I thought of the Dunkin Donuts... well donuts of course! First of all I am sorry about yesterday was primarily focused on the Podcast and trying to catch up so I would be able to go live tonight. Sometimes I need to sacrifice the blog to catch up and I know you guys will understand. Anyways I went to Dunkin Donuts somewhere in the state of New York I honestly have no bleeping clue where it was so I cannot really give you guys an answer but it was one of those stops on the side of the highway honestly. Anyways I ordered a honey dip donut. The first reaction of the donut was it was so soft, so fresh and the actual glaze wasn't a mess like any other one that I have had in the past or at anywhere. It was really good and I actually had a second donut from Dunkin Donuts later on like once I got to Boston and that was good too but gooey but still regardless sooo good!  Now I never have had Dunkin Donuts and this was my first time having it ever in my entire life! The second time I went to the Dunkin Donuts I had the exact same thing and pretty much still the same results like the first time I had Dunkin so pretty much I had nothing negative to say about it honestly.

This trip I tried a bunch of new things that I never had before and there is nothing really wrong with that honestly. That is why I went on this trip to try some new things and this year is about me trying new things and I have definitely gone above and beyond on that and so far I think it went well minus two or three negative reviews I had and I will get into that on another post. Now for the rating of Dunkin Donuts is 5 of 5 all day long! Like I said before there is nothing remotely negative to say really. Loved it and if we go back down, I'd consider going back if I wanted a sweet treat and probably end up doing their Boston Cream which is one of my other favorite donuts and will definitely try that. Either way that was the second one I did as you know that I did Arby's first but I festered up and did this one first but it is coming probably by next week set of posts that are coming as I got a pile of food reviews which will be out every 2nd day. Either way I hope you enjoy it and let me know what you think of Dunkin Donuts? Leave your comment below in the comments! I will talk to you guys tomorrow with Days 3 & 4 for the Boston Trip.

What Two Dishes Do I Want To Cook First?

So as you know this year, I have been trying to cook something new once a month as I want to learn to make some new dishes that I want to make. I think I once touched on this before here on the blog but the very next two dishes I want to make I have discussed it with my mom already. So what are this dishes? Here is the list of what I would like to make over the next two months starting next month.

1) Mushroom Ravioli- I am not a big fan of Mushrooms but I can make it small enough that is isn't as big inside the pasta. I would make the pasta dough from scratch add in the meat and mushroom and actually I think it is in an oil based sauce if I am correct but I would have to look at the recipe yet again to see what is in it. Either way I am excited to be trying out this recipe which is officially going to help teach me to cook new things both healthy and of course hearty as Italian is a hearty dish.

2) Chicken Balls and Lo Mein Noodles- I had a smaller chicken ball sample at the Chinese place at the food court in Toronto Union Station and gave me the idea to do smaller pieces of chicken with batter around it and also smeared in sweet n sour sauce. As a side dish do lo mein noodles and I got majority of the stuff ready and maybe tonight i'd give it a shot but right now we have a pile of left overs right now so it is kind of hard. However in time I plan on trying it out and I think next week I am going to make the time to even try it out.

Anyways there is my list of things I would like to cook first and hopefully by the start of May which is only a week away to start trying to cook this dish for you guys and giving it a shot. Now I do have to figure out batter as it is different from breaded chicken so there is a difference but I like cooking as it is very relaxing for me and I find it to be a very relaxful thing for me especially after a long day in this studio as I have been spending majority of my time here lately while taking care of my mom during her recovery from knee so a good amount of my time is here in the house and the studio which is downstairs as you can tell with the photos on my Instagram.
