Web Series or Podcasting?

            Web series or Podcasting? Which one do I prefer. As you guys may know my history with the web series that I use to do from 2005 till 2015 a good 10 years with doing series then from 2014 to the present day, which almost at 10 years for me as a podcaster as I started to dabble in the world of podcasting with one other person back then. You guys know I loved doing the series but we kind of ran aground and ran out of ideas for the series so that is one of the reason. 

            But Podcasting I love, I love being my authentic self and talk about TV shows and movies so I really am loving what we're doing now with the podcasts right now and no regrets whatsoever switching to podcasts. Larry, Kelsie and myself seem to really enjoy what we are doing right now. So in a short answer, I definitely say podcasting is more my thing and more in my wheelhouse of expertise as I've done internet and campus radio in the past. Goals For ChrisBOnTheWeb Media?

             Since we are halfway through the year, some of our goals weren't reachable like the YouTube Channel for The CBOTW Show but there are goals I'd like to share with you guys professionally:

ChrisBOnTheWeb Media: I'd love to reach 1 million views on ChrisBOnTheWeb.com and we're closing in to 700K at this moment and it may take a few more years but that is totally OK with that and we continue to grow and learn each and every day we continue this journey together. 

            Also I would love to see 20 years and even a 25th anniversary for ChrisBOnTheWeb but baby steps as we are only on our 10th anniversary at the moment and we will get there eventually but again it is a long way off from our 20th and 25th anniversary and we will get there some day, just gotta keep truckin'. 

Entertainment Man Podcast: Now Entertainment Man, I can say I want to reach 300 episodes with eventually hitting the 500th episode down the road. Also I would love to hit 500 subscribers which is a very high goal and that will happen eventually. Small goals to start obviously.

The CBOTW Show: With The CBOTW Show of YouTube now my only goal is the 100th episode of the podcast and getting up there in episodes and probably get close to 50 by this year. 

            Anyways that is my post for today, it is nice to redefine my goals and as you noticed, I didn't give us any timeline, when it happens it happens right. Just keep producing the content out there but I will talk to you all tomorroW.

What's Going on With The CBOTW Show?

             I know YouTube has become a stressful platform. I thought all our episodes The  CBOTW Show was going to work but the premiere cut out after 10 - 20 mins into  the premiere which got me very, very upset and more agitated with the platform but playing it back didn't work. I think having 3 channels is a little much right now. So The CBOTW Show is staying Audio ONLY for now and maybe 3 channels was not the right move for us perhaps plus Twitch. 

             So maybe I need to focus on the 2 channels and shrink things down ChrisBOnTheWeb Media channel and Entertainment Man Podcast. Maybe one day we will go back to video for The CBOTW Show but who knows. We are taking a step back for now and focusing on the Audio ONLY for The CBOTW Show while Entertainment Man Podcast is on YouTube and with me streaming on weekends for you guys those will be my 2 primary focus. Anyways that is the blog post for today, I will talk to you all tomorrow!

Feeling Nervous About The Schedule Changes...

               I feel very nervous when it comes to these changes that I am making to the podcasts and I know I asked you guys first if you were OK with these changes and most of you said yes so that means you guys were ok with the changes that were being made. I even reached out on all the platforms if this was ok with you guys and you guys said that is fine. So I do not know why I am feeling these nerves 

            And I know it will be a big success going with weekly shows. It'll take you guys some time to get use to the new schedule and how it works but this way we can produce both shows and air both shows during the week which is the reason behind the changes that we made. Trust me there is a reason for all these changes and it is so we can produce and post up both on a weekly basis. So in conclusion there should be no reason honestly to be nervous I am sure you guys will receive these changes with a positive feedback and you guys have asked The CBOTW Show isn't weekly and something I will get into on tomorrow's Podcast but I will talk to you then.

Finding Brotato Video Game Tough!

               I know I've done a review but after playing it for a while, it's not as easy as I think it is. I find myself stuck in the corner of the room with these things or creatures come at me and fast and the further you go the harder it is to actually beat and I do not know how many heats there is in this game but it seems like an endless amount of heats right now but the furthest I've gone is 13 heats that is where I ended the run by dying. But that is a great start for me in the game. 

              I have to just keep working at it and eventually I can beat this but I have actually unlocked some of the other characters with this game so that is most definitely good but slowly but surely. I need to get to play it on stream soon enough. I haven't had the time to do that as I have been fooling around with a house remodel on House Flipper 2. However I do find it tougher and a bit more complicated but I enjoy the game and reminds me a bit like The Binding of Isaac games. Anyways that is the post for today, I will talk to you all tomorrow!

What is going to happen when I'm away?

            As you know I will be away from May 15th - 19th, 2024 this week starting Wednesday. So what I am planning to do is get all the blogs for the week written between those days minus Sunday is a day of rest for all of us and we are committed to taking at least one day off during the week. So mainly it will be all topic blogs from today right through to Saturday, 

            What about the end of the week updates? With me only in the studio the last two days, there is not enough updates for Kelsie to give so she gets the week off and she will be returning the following week. Also she will be solely in charge of ChrisBOnTheWeb Media while I am out in Quebec for 5 days. Any emails, messages will be answered by her as I will not be available Anyways that is the plan for this week, I hope you enjoy tomorrow's and the rest of the week's blog and I will talk to you on the next one tomorrow!

End of The Week Updates [05-11-2024]

                This is my final end of the week updates for 2 weeks as Chris has given me next week off from the blog and plus there will not be a lot of updates to be given that week as he's away half of the week and I wish him a safe travel and to have a good time. So to the updates, Chris has finished up all the recordings and finishing up editing the podcast editing for the next 2 weeks till he's back and ready to get back into recording new episodes. He isn't booking any new interviews right now till he gets back and settled back in and sounds like start of June for him to start back up with interviews again.

                The Discord server continues to flourish and grow and is always busy and active especially with my best friend, Brooke as an intern with ChrisBOnTheWeb Media who's help Chris, Larry and I run the server. Also the Facebook Group has returned and is active as well as ever can be which is great to see. Chris will be back in about 2 weeks from today for streaming and excited to catch back up with you all with the streams again on weekends. Finally, he plans on working on The CBOTW Show for future episodes before he leaves for Quebec on Wednesday this upcoming week and going to see how much he can get done. So there are the updates for the week, I will be monitoring the socials, email and Discord as always if you have any questions as Chris will be away, he's left me in charge and I will speak to you all 2 weeks from now.

Going back to our roots.

             I promise you guys this is the last time I am making the Main Channel as it is here permanently. We are going back to our roots where we were last week. ChrisBOnTheWeb Media is back on YouTube as the main channel and once I enable streaming, I will be getting back to this schedule:

Saturdays: Chatting Stream (Facebook, YouTube & Twitch)

Sundays: Gaming Stream (YouTube & Twitch)

            So with streams this weekend they aren't happening but may pop up Monday night if possible but if not then I will be off till 2 weeks this Saturday (tomorrow) if that is the case so I apologize but I will be not here physically in the studio nor will have time to stream while away. However stay tuned for some content on social media while I am gone. Anyways that is the blog for today, I will talk to you all on Monday as she's doing the end of the week updates.

A Friendly Reminder When Emailing Us.

Doors Open Ontario- Former Genosha Hotel

        The final event as you probably realize that my dad and I did 3 Doors Open Ontario locations in a day. This one really struck me interested as Genosha Hotel which is now called 70 King was a hotel originally, built in the 1920's, and opened in 1929 if I remember correctly. It was shut down in the late early 2000's and sat almost 2 decades empty and in dire need of a restoration.   

Then it finally reopened in 2019 as Luxury rental apartments which was the reason for the visit, I wanted to see what it looked like and I was immediately wowed with the beautiful marble floors in the lobby. They have a Church's Chicken which is from down in Texas and also there is going to be a lot of chefs they hand picked, Polish food there will be one that is a bit of two different, homemade tacos and many more. I am very, very impressed how the building looks like now. It still has it's original brick on the outside with modern windows and the model apartment was awesome! Very modern and the bathroom was huge! I really love the modern take on the building. I am glad I picked this one to see what it looks like. Anyways that wraps up for our 4 events we went to and as always I will talk to you all tomorrow.

Doors Open Ontario- Charles Street Building & Maple Fest

 

           Now the Charles Street Building was a printing press company back in the 30's, 40's and I'm sure the 50's, now one of the campuses here for Ontario Tech University home to the Ridgebacks which I have seen a game in person and was awesome. There is a lot of original wood beams there and they really made it modern. They even had a giant size camera that they used back then with the accordion which was really cool and gives you the vibes of the 1920's and 1930's back then. Was cool to see that campus building as the city is very much a University city now. Glad they used this building for education as the building has a lot of history behind it. 

              Now my dad and I switched over to the Maple Fest which we picked up my mom and went to the Maple Festival one town over. We saw the usual and one thing that stood out was them making Maple Suckers on ice and I have one that is package but next year I'd like to get one that is being made. A lot of great venders and a very busy event and so glad to see it hustling and bustling. Anyways that is the post for today, I will talk to you all tomorrow!
