Canada Day 2021 (Studio Is Shutdown For The Day!)

First of all, Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canadians out there! Hope you have a safe and Happy Canada Day! I sure as heck am going to! With that, the ChrisBOnTheWeb studios is indeed shutdown, even Savannah's Kitchener Studios are closed. I told her to take the day off so there will not be a lot of movement with content work being done minus this post which was done wee bit in the morning, I'm talking about 1 am EST. Anyways there is an announcement 2 hours or less from now at 1 pm EST regarding the website and I decided to make the announcement today as I didn't wanna wait till tomorrow for this announcement. It's about this very website and the extra's tab that isn't very active at this moment and details are coming in the next week what we are working on. Today is about Savannah and I relaxing, taking a day off from the hard long hours we put into the website and content.

Consider this a day for us to recharge and get ready for the next step. Because the next few days, we're both working on content and the website. Then the website part I mentioned. However today, I plan to spend some time with my parents, watch the Blue Jays play as they have a game in the afternoon. I probably will be working on my baseball stadium as I did tonight for a tiny but getting the locker rooms built. Probably some Sims 4, start working on the next Big Brother House. Might rip off the ceiling in the backyard part like the Big Brother U.S. House with the hot tub and what not. Problem is the seasons, it snows, rains so that may be an issue. Finally today I am going to enjoy the hot dogs and turkey sausages for dinner and I plan to eat upstairs as I said I wanted to spend time with the family. Anyways we both will be back tomorrow, if any problems or questions arise please send us an email cbotwbiz@yahoo.com and we will look into it tomorrow (Friday.) Please have a safe and happy holiday and I will speak to you all tomorrow.

What Did I Think About The Rotating School Strike?

What did I think of the rotating 1 day strike? Well for one it was ridiculous and there was weeks where my niece and nephew were out twice in a week which I feel like that the kids out of school they lose valuable time learning. Now it seems to be not happening as much as maybe a deal has been made or even the teachers forced back to work? Honestly, there hasn't been much but I say good, the kids get the education they need. Definitely they need the education. Honestly when I was in school a long time ago, like 14 years ago was the last time I was, I do not even remember having a strike. However keeping them out of school too long isn't good and plus the school year can be extended if this kept on going. However I shouldn't be complaining, they could of been out of school completely and losing even more valuable time learning in the classroom. This is why when my parents and I had the kids on a rotating strike day, I always do some math or spelling with them to keep their minds fresh, especially for when they return to school.

Honestly, I think things died down with the rotating strikes but I just found out that there will  be more rotating strikes next week. Honestly can't they wait till the summer to deal with the contract disputes. Yes I realize they want more money which is normally the case with the teachers. However this is the high schools not the elementary as my niece and nephew are in elementary. Either way doesn't matter if it is elementary or high school level, the kids need their education and that is the most important thing. This also goes for college and I was one that had to the deal with a strike on my last year of college which stunk and actually if I remember correctly being almost 8 years ago, I went to class without support as you guys know I have autism and I had the extra help but the support staff were on strike but I still attended and managed on my own terms. But the strike I had to deal with was everyday of the week which meant I had to fend for myself.  The point is it stinks and I know how the kids feel and just hope this can be resolved very soon so things can get back to normal.

Plans For Traveling This Summer?

So this has been coming in my mind a lot lately and the question I am going to answer for you guys is am I going to go away on holidays this year? Well I hope so! I do not think we will be traveling to the U.S. this year, Minnesota especially but you know I would love to go back to visit cousins down there but again it's a money thing especially to fly down. However I do have 3 places in the back of my mind actually and I am going to mention them in this post:

1) The one place is going back to Pelee Island with my mom and dad as we would love to bring her there but could also be just my dad and I that is undetermined right now. However either way I would love to go back on more time.

2) Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid, New York- Been there so many years ago, I was fairly young at the time but I just do not know if I would ever go back anytime soon it is hard to tell. Also I do not think it would be this year as I do not want to go back to back years going to the U.S. so more then likely be a trip somewhere in Ontario but again you never really know.

3) Third and finally is Tobermory once again. There is 3 more things on my bucket list I want to do before I finish everything off with what I want to see and do. One is take the Great Blue Heron for a 2 hour cruise around the islands which we have never ever done during the daytime. Still do our trip to the Grotto and Singing Sands Beach as well if we have the time to do that. Finally spend an day on Manitoulin Island and explore the island a bit and yes see the good old Norisle that is sitting there at the shore slowly sinking. Just hope they can restore it eventually it would be nice to actually go on there and see what it is like.

There is my list and more then likely this year, my dad and I will be doing Tobermory and just do not the full extent of the plan but the 2 Hour Great Blue Heron Cruise and exploring Manitoulin Island but not sure if we will be able to squeeze in the Grotto and Singing Sands but we can do a full 5 days Monday to Friday with the Friday to come back home after the trip. So I think that is the plan but there is one other thing but it would be quite a travel as we have to go to the U.S. for this but see the Museum where the Edmund Fitzgerald's Bell is which they pulled up after she sank in the water. I'm not sure if I'd ever do it but it is definitely a dream to do and something I'd love to see in person.

My Thoughts For The Upcoming Big Brother Canada Season 8....

Now that there was a post about BBCAN8, it is starting to make me wonder what the plan is. I have several ideas, thoughts and theories behind the upcoming season next year and this is why I called off the other post I was suppose to do today till tomorrow which you will see what I mean tomorrow. Anyways I wanna talk about this as I am, I mean it has me wondering as there has been speculation on one basic thing that we have been waiting for now 8 seasons. Here is my theories and thoughts:

1) All-Stars: This has been on our mind since the 7th season has now wrapped up and we could be seeing an All-Star season, however would the casting director make an announcement that casting information is coming soon? I mean wouldn't they stay quiet if it indeed been an all stars season cast? Their definitely wouldn't be anything in the way of auditions for an All-Stars as that is mainly them bringing back old cast from the previous 7 seasons so I am not totally certain there will not be an All-Stars yet but never know with Big Brother, Expect, the unexpected. They could be hyping us up for an All-Stars season after all but never know!

2) Big Brother Canada Vs. U.S. with newbies from both the U.S. and Canada- A topic long talked about after season 4 of Big Brother Canada after getting international houseguests in that season. I pretty much am convinced as they are talking about casting calls information is coming soon, like I said I think All-Stars is not in the question but again but you just do not know what they have in stored.

3) Big Brother Canada Vs U.S. With Veterans- I know not every fan is fond of returnees but this could be another option, however what would be the point of auditions or casting information as it was said, that casting information is coming soon so this means there probably be casting so the 2nd one is probably more the probable at this point.

There is my list of 3 ideas that is going through my list as I spent about an hour and a half with Eric and we were talking to get my mind off the recent drama in my life and anything right now is possible with this. I just do not know which way they will go or they will once again have newbies this season. Eric mentioned they could be doing 8 Canadians, 8 American's in the winter and the same in the summer in the U.S So I just do not really can put a finger on it as I do not know what their plan is but right now it is but if it was All-Stars, there would of not been an announcement about casting but it is still early to tell and they could even do an All-Stars season but we will find out in time. What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments below!

Canada Post Back Log is Frustrating!

The end of this year has indeed has been frustrating with the Canada Post and it hasn't been easy with us getting mail as it is currently in a backlog at the moment which isn't good. I was worried end of the last month and the end of October if I remember correctly but the reason I was worried was because of the end of the month is cheque day and I was worried I wasn't going to get it due to the rotating strike going on around the province of Ontario so it was stress that was getting to me and I was quite frustrated and angry by this damn strike. Sorry I used the word damn but it is really frustrating and it's not the money portion part of the cheque it's the paper work that comes in the mail that helps me get my bus pass for each and every month of the year and gets me around the city and the region which does help quite a lot! Not only that as you all know it was my birthday this month and I was expecting a birthday card which I got several days later on the Saturday as we got a bulk of mail here at the house.

We also suddenly started to not get mail whatsoever but I am glad my dad complained because they started deliver it again and it's not the same person who delivered the mail either which is not the same honestly but we gotta deal with this backlog of a mess and wish they would of made a deal sooner or we wouldn't be in this mess from the get go. Like seriously it was annoying enough to not get mail or things I had coming to me. Why the heck do you think I never put the order in for the second boom arm as I do not trust the mail service right now due to all of this backlog. I do not know when I will put the order in for the second boom arm, or maybe I will end up waiting till end of April or when the desk is fully rebuilt but at this point I do not know because I would of gotten it sooner if it wasn't for this blasted Mail strike. However in the end of the day of me bitching and complaining, I am glad I didn't get it or I wouldn't have seen it for weeks maybe months with this backlog so I did things right and I am proud to have wait things out while this backlog is fixed but soon I plan on making the order down the road when the time is right to do it.

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!

First of all I have to wish all you Canadians a very Happy Thanksgiving. I have been home all weekend myself and I am very thankful for my family and friends of course especially at this time of year. I am a family man outside of the Online Media gig and I am very much spending time with the family and also my friends hence why I gave up on YouTube as I felt I spent too much time on projects and planning out videos as well but that is not what this blog post is about. Friends are my other priority in life. Anyways this weekend I was home most of the weekend, I never got a chance to get out but minus a walk here and there but I had to focus on getting the podcast out and getting it back on track. I spent an hour with my mom watching Hell's Kitchen which was great and I will do a post end of the week talking about it but either then that I was busy catching up the podcast and blogging as well. Today is a day of rest for me finally and I will be slaving over the hot stove all day cooking up a storm for the family Thanksgiving dinner with my aunts Catherine, Francine, Uncles Claude, Uncle Chuck, my grandma, my parents and I are getting together for dinner here at the house and I am more then likely will not be active during the time but will get some pictures of me cooking onto Instagram so be sure to check that out.

Finally I hope you all are having a safe and Happy Thanksgiving and you are traveling safe to and from visiting family and be sure to think about what you are thankful for at this time of the year. I am very thankful for family and friends but also I am thankful for meeting all of you 3500 + and 91 followers on both Twitter and Instagram and non of this would be possible without you guys the fans that make CBOTW Possible.Without you guys I probably end up leaving CBOTW all together but cause of you guys this is all possible and it is still a huge success to this day. It has been quite the adventure but stressful but you guys make this stress worth it in the end. So have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving and I will speak to you guys tomorrow on another blog post.

Ukrainian & Polish Festival 2018 In Toronto

Yesterday, I got the opportunity to go to two festivals, the Ukrainian & Polish Festival, yes tons of food and definitely a weight gainer as you know I am on a diet right now but I took yesterday as one of my fat days for the festival and I am allowed that once and a while and yesterday was one of those days. So we left at around 10 am in the morning, drove down to York Mills Subway station and got on from there. We had to transfer at Bloor to the Bloor Danforth Line all the way over to Jane for the festival. Yes I realize it is a long way to go but worth it in the end. We got there and started to look around and we turned around and there was the parade which is do a parade that they do each and every year to launch the festival and as you can see above, there is the start of the parade. Next we walked down the street looking at some of the booths there, so many political tables which I do not know why they have to even campaign at this event as we are going into another election which will be municipal. Anyways we grabbed some food, this year we had perogies and Latke which are potato pancakes.  We finished looking around and headed on out from festival 1.

Then we headed our way to the Polish festival off of Roncesville in Toronto, Ontario and it was a lot to take in as it goes a very great stretch down the street. We heard some great music, Polka Music to be exact and also they had dancing as well which I have have seen polish dance before at the General Sorkorski Hall here, locally last year during Fiesta Week. As for dinner we had polish sausage on a bun which the bun was so fresh and the sausage itself was really tender and great. Another great year at both of the festivals and looking forward to going back next year with my dad once again as both him and I do this each and every year. It is always fun to go even though, there is tons of walking involved with it but it is good exercise and glad to be away from the studio for the day.

My Thoughts On The Minimum Wage Going Up Here In Canada

To start today's blog post out by saying, I do not usually talk politics on this blog but today is an exception as this has been on my mind for the last month or so since they announced this was going to happen here in Ontario and Canada. I will try to keep it PG but not guaranteeing anything. Trust me there is a lot on my mind with this and I will definitely be making my points.

First point I would like is they have now raised it to $14 minimum wage and will be raising it to $15 as of early 2019. Now my question is, how in the world are the businesses going to be able to pay their employees 15 dollars per hour? What I think will happen is they keep this up they will have to lay off some of their employees which means the number of unemployed people will be up. Now I am hoping that it would of gone up not gone down, no damn clue what the hell this government is doing and why they wanna up it. Yes it is good for us the people who are working minimum wage, but it hurts the businesses in the long run too. Makes no sense raising it if it will hurt the businesses, especially the smaller businesses as well. I wondered if I was still with the bookstore, if I would still have my job still but probably I wouldn't have a job if I was still in the working world.

One thing is if the Progressive Conservative Party wins this years election as we are heading to the polls, they want to slowly increase the minimum wage here compare to the nut case who is the Premiere of Ontario, so it would be more then likely better, however you never know with who is in power, but change is always good. I hope the government doesn't rush minimum wage as I said above, it can hurt businesses, especially the smaller businesses, we do not want to see companies go under due to going bankrupt or not able to pay their employees which it ends up in unemployment for some.

Have a great day!

My Favorite Trips I Like To Go In The USA

So, today's blog off with me covering my favorite trips from both up here in the USA. This will be quite a lengthy post but going to try and keep it short and sweet. I will split the two

Let's start with the United States of America, the good old US of A. I have been to many places in the States I would visit again too in the near future and my dad doesn't know this but next year I would like to go back to Lake Placid once again and I've been there before and would go back. Few things I loved was the Arena where the Olympics were and I remember the arena very well. Also I would like to go back up on White Face Mountain which I sort of remember going up there but hard to remember that far back what I saw up on the mountain. Also Lake Placid was where the 1980 Winter Olympics were.

Next is Chicago, loved visiting Chicago, going to Wrigley Field, eating deep dish pizza which is a well known thing in Chicago. Got to ride the double decker tours, the single older tour buses, cruise tour along the river there seeing all the different buildings within the city of Chiago, got to see Trump Tower Chicago which Bill the first winner of the Apprentice got to chose as a job within the organization. Also got to see Solider Field where the Bears NFL team plays, got to see the waterfront as well. I would go back and see more of Chicago, see the Museum of Natural History, find where the Blackhawks hockey and Bulls basketball team plays. See what I haven't yet to see in the city of Chicago aka the Windy City.  On the side of this paragraph is an image of Wrigley Field.

The next Vacation I went to was in the same line as the Chicago visit is Minnesota and the reason why is because I have cousins down in Minneapolis. One thing I didn't know was the TV show Mary Tyler Moore was suppose to be filmed in but I believe it wasn't but the intro was done in Minneapolis. I would like to ride the  streetcar but it's a long train and you can walk right through it. Toronto has those kind of streetcars. Also of course I'd see another Twins game, hoping they can start being a good team again and they are getting better as they are winning again and even at home but the game was so much fun and it was a different atmosphere in a open stadium from the dome stadium out in Toronto so the experience was fun! Plus I got to meet the organist and I got a picture taken which is this picture:

I added the Mary Tyler Moore statue as well. There are too many pictures of my trip to Chicago/Minnesota but added 3 of them one in Chicago, two in Chicago and I am merely excited to eventually visit both cities again in the future. In conclusion of this blog post today I would like to say stay tuned for the Canada Vacation Spots I have been to on Wednesday and of course I will add more pictures to that post as well. Finally I will be making a post as more of an announcement in a few days from now as I have made a decision on an event I was suppose to go to has changed.

Have a great day!

Durham Transit Bus Throwback Story From Many Years Ago

First of All I had to share this throwback story, just had to share it as it is quite a funny story and its been years since the event happened but I had to tell it and I sort of talked about it on social media, but not at length and as I was talking about it on Twitter a bit when I had that same bus in particular.

So many years ago, maybe back in 2008 or 2009 or something like that, hard to remember when it happened actually, but I was on my way to see to see my grandma, but on the way the bell randomly went off without anyone touching the bell line or pressing the button on the pole, the darn thing still goes off. We arrived at the Oshawa Centre and the bus driver went on a break as he was 5 minutes early, he came back and the bus would not start so the bus decided to break down so I ended up waiting for another bus since they had to try and fix the bus on the spot or get it towed back to the barn to get fixed. So I ended up waiting until the next bus which would be the 11 am bus which was 30 minutes later from the time the other bus was suppose to leave. So I had to let my grandma know what was going on and that I would be late coming to see her.

I always will refer 8403 on Durham Transit, the bus from hell as it has been nothing but a problem over time. Recently I had that bus and it made a rattling sound on the front of the bus so something was rattling in the bus. This is why I call it the bus from hell as it is always a constant problem or something goes wonky on the bus. I tell ya that bus is cursed and maybe I am the one that put the curse on the bus or the bus was built with a malfunction never know! Haha. This is my throwback story for today and I will do more of them if you guys really loved my throwback stories, because I got lots of em to tell.

Have a great night!

Justice System & Goverment In Canada

I have been a Canadian all my life and I have noticed that our justice system in Canada isn't overly the greatest.... Someone gets murdered they are out in 10 - 15 years... If we actually voted in our Judges it wouldn't be as messed up as it has been recently. Seems anyone who actually gets put into jail for major crime is out... I know Paul Bernardo is still in prison for his crime but his partner she's out, so as you can see our justice system isn't greatest but can be effective at certain times... Again we should vote in our Judges this way there wouldn't be this in effectiveness in the Justice system here in Canada. That is my little spit on the justice in Canada, I know it isn't much but its my thoughts about the situation in our system here.

Now goverment wise, I am not happy one bit! Yes not one bit! One our Prime Minister wants to legalize marijuana, 2 I am sure our taxes are going to go up... Ontario the Premier she wanted to cut out or cut down my disability pension which I wasn't happy with... Now she is giving me more money?! Like what the heck?! I am not one bit happy with her because she cannot make up her mind what she wants to do. One thing that is good is family's with low income family's will get more money which is good... I shouldn't complain about getting more money... LOL I should be entirely happy about this!

Have a great night guys,

Chris
